From THEORY to PRACTICE Because the UNIVERSE… 1 of 15 . www.crosettofoundation.org through the Positive Power of DIALOGUE Press space to continue

Slide 2:

Following is a brief dialogue between a Brazilian theologist Leonardo Boff and the Dalai Lama. THE UNIVERSE IS THE ECHO OFOUR ACTIONS AND OUR THOUGHTS Leonardo Boff is one of the renovators of the Theology of Freedom. 2 of 15 . www.unitedtoendcancer.org . Press space to continue

In a round table discussion about religion and freedom in which Dalai Lama and myself were participating at recess I maliciously, and also with interest, asked him: “Your holiness, what is the best religion?” 3 of 15 . www.crosettofoundation.org . Press space to continue

which surprised me because I knew of the malice contained in my question. He answered: “The best religion is the one that gets you closest to God. It is the one that makes you a better person.” I thought he would say: “The Tibetan Buddhism” or “The oriental religions, much older than Christianity” Dalai Lama paused, smiled and looked me in the eyes … 4 of 15 . www.unitedtoendcancer.org . To get out of my embarrassment with such a wise answer, I asked: “What is it that makes me better?” He responded: “Whatever makes you more compassionate, more sensible, more detached, more loving, more humanitarian, more responsible, more ethical. The religion that will do that for you is the best religion” 5 of 15 . www.crosettofoundation.org . Press space to continue

6 of 15 . I was silent for a moment, marvelling and even today thinking of his wise and irrefutable response: “I am not interested, my friend, about your religion or if you are religious or not. What really is important to me IS YOUR BEHAVIOR IN FRONT OF YOUR PEERS, FAMILY, WORK, COMMUNITY, AND IN FRONT OF THE WORLD. Remember, the universe is the echo of our actions and our thoughts.” www.unitedtoendcancer.org . Press space to continue

Slide 7:

Finally he said: “Take care of your Thoughts because they become Words. Take care of your Words because they will become Actions. Take care of your Actions because they will become Habits. Take care of your Habits because they will form your Character. Take care of your Character because it will form your Destiny, and your Destiny will be your Life … and … there is no Religion higher than the TRUTH.” 7 of 15 . www.crosettofoundation.org . ANSWERS we provide our peers, friends, and society that consciously and deliberately do not represent the TRUTH, and BEHAVIOR that is unethical, not responsible, contrary to its own mission, or perhaps even illegal, are roadblocks to solving many problems. One of the more serious problems which has not yet been addressed is also analyzed in this website.  This problem affects over 45% of the world's population, prematurely takes 6 million lives per year, and costs everyone $750/year. This calamity is: CANCER. The site www.crosettofoundation.org provides examples of how one peer's ANSWERS and BEHAVIOR was able to damage the whole of society through his actions and inactions towards another peer. These problems could be solved by identifying the behavioral CONTRADICTIONS, and eliminating them by implementing the Dalai Lama’s message. 8 of 15 . www.unitedtoendcancer.org . Slide 9:

Many CONTRADICTIONS are justified in the name of freedom, however… Is it being ethical and responsible when some scientists, public officers, decision-makers and citizens behave in this manner? TRUTH is achieved through: DIALOGUE, observation, and understanding the laws of nature, and providing honest answers based on the analysis of facts and data. 9 FREEDOM requires responsibility, respect for others, and increased participation and commitment to establish the TRUTH because truth will guarantee freedom. Is it legitimate to claim FREEDOM & PRIVACY as justification for not providing truthful and honest answers when doing so causes damage to others? of 15 . www.crosettofoundation.org . But by INCREASING EFFICIENCY - more lives saved at a lower cost per life saved. First show higher efficiency from experimental results on a sample population of 10,000, 100,000, 1,000,000 and THEN INCREASE FUNDING. Asking people to give more funding for cancer without reducing cancer death is to their detriment, not to their advantage. CANCER is not solved by INCREASING FUNDING, 10 of 15 . www.unitedtoendcancer.org . Press space to continue

Slide 11:

The cost of basic food has only increased 4 times as much over the past 50 years, whereas the cost of cancer treatment has increased 100 times during the same period, only reducing the death rate by a mere 5% (heart disease by comparison was reduced by 64%). The ability to compare the effectiveness of cancer research projects is key to reducing the waste of research dollars. The cancer comparison table at: www.crosettofoundation.org/uploads/391.pdf has this functionality. It can quickly and easily identify projects to which funds have been assigned despite meager results in reducing cancer death, and is also the tool that can identify more efficient solutions which increase the number of lives saved at a lower cost. Cancer costs: $741 billion/year in the 38 most industr. Countries. 11 of 15 . Cost of cancer treatment www.crosettofoundation.org . Press space to continue

Slide 12:

In order to identify those projects which have the highest potential, the first judge should be the researcher himself who made the proposal, because he must be able to defend and support his claims with scientific arguments before his colleagues. The second judge will be the results in reduction of cancer deaths and costs from the experiments performed. A starting point is to ask the researcher to justify his proposal by estimating the percentage of lives saved with his research. IT IS TIME FOR A PARADIGM SHIFT IN CANCER RESEARCH. 12 of 15 . www.unitedtoendcancer.org . Press space to continue

Slide 13:

HOW CAN WE HELP TO SOLVE THE CANCER PROBLEM? By creating awareness through an honest DIALOGUE focused on increasing the efficiency in reducing premature cancer deaths at a lower cost for each life saved. 13 By SIGNING the PETITION www.gopetition.com/online/33546.html you are supporting the demand for estimated results in cancer death reduction and cost reduction up front from researchers and decision makers who spend your taxpayer dollars. of 15 . THE TIME IS NOW!!! Send this message to all your friends. The problem can be solved with everyone’s PARTICIPATION. 15 If you don’t send this on today, tomorrow will be the same as yesterday and everything will continue as in the past: because if you are not asking for results for your money, you and your friends, family, grandchildren… will continue to die prematurely of cancer… of 15 . Who will be next? …a PREMATURE cancer death occurs every 5 seconds. Six million each year SIGN the PETITION at: www.gopetition.com/online/33546.html “Be the change you want to see in the world” (M.
