The idea of this PowerPoint is to inform the viewer about the designers background’s and facts they might not know about the designers. I find it very interesting to learn about the designers behind all the beautiful clothing. I believe that if people wear their clothing then they must know at least a bit about designer, just out of he courtesy.Yves Saint Laurent: Yves Saint Laurent The master behind the clothing Yves Saint Laurent, born on August 1, 1936 in Oran, Algeria. He began his career after winning third place in a contest for young designers. At the age of 21 he became the head designer of house f Dior. After being fired from there, his true career began.Valentino: Valentino Valentino Garavani began his life in Italy in 1932 in the town of Milan. While in Paris, he studied amongst the worlds best in fashion. A while after he moved to Rome where he opened his own fashion house. Now Valetino’s designs are known world wide and worn by many artist.Chanel: Chanel Gabrielle Chanel was born on August 19, 1883 in France. Grew up in a poor home, during the industrial revolution although she had nothing to do with the modernistic cities . Then in 1916 Chanel created the “Jersey suit” that became well known, then came her first perfume Chanel no.5. That’s when her revolutionary women clothing started become well known.Armani: Armani Giorgio Armani was born on July 11, 1934 in Piacenza, Italy. Before training to become a fashion designer he quite medical school and began as buy for a department store. Then in 1974 Armani introduced his own label to the world with apparel for men and women. That’s when he began opening shops with his clothing designs.Dolce and Gabanna: Dolce and Gabanna Dolce and Gabanna was establised by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana . Dolce was born in Palermo, Italy and Gabanna was born in Venice, Italy. They both worked in design in Milan. They launched their first major women's collection 1985, and started becoming known.Fendi: Fendi Adele Casagrande began in 1918 when she opened a leather and fur store in Rome. When she married Edoardo Fendi she changed her last name to Fendi . Then in 1965 she began her collection known as “FF”. Her career then launched and became famous, and is now well known for her handbags.Gucci: Gucci Guccio Gucci a craftsman son , was born in 1881. Founded his first house of Gucci in Florence, Italy. One of his first talents was his craftsmanship in leather goods, and started selling leather bags. Then he progressed to selling luxury luggage and started his own business.Christian Dior: Christian Dior Christian Dior opened his first company after working with Robert Pigue Lucien Lelong which began in 1947. With his label he changed the mid-century fashion. With the new look he created he became one of the most renounced French designers in history.Prada: Prada Miuccia Prada took over her grandfather Mario Prada's Italian-leather-goods business in 1978. That’s when she began to change the peoples views over fashion. Then in 1988 she began her first womens line and began her Prada company.Tom Ford: Tom Ford Tom Ford was born on August 27, 1961 in Austin Texas. Parents who were realtors, grew up in the suburbs of Houston. After moving to New York and dropping out of NYU he moved to Paris where he worked for Chole a press office. Then attended The New School where he began studying fashion and began his career.Marc Jacobs: Marc Jacobs Mark Jacobs introduced his line in 1989, immediately after he became the youngest designer to win the CFDA award for his womenswear , menwear and accessories. After receiving those awards he became a very important role to the American fashion industry. Now he is known for his runways and the use of unexpected models.Versace: Versace Gianni Versace was born on December 2, 1946 in Reggio Calabria, Italy. After working in a dressmaking company he began working as a freelance designer. Then with the help of his brother he began the Gianni Versace collection. Then from there he began doing shows in Milan and became very recognized.Slide 16: This project not only helped other people learn about the various designers, it also gave me a deeper knowledge about all these designers. I feel like at the end of this project I learned about the beginning of the careers of the designers at a level where I can admire their work at a deeper level.
