What is PDP? ‘a structured and supported process undertaken by an individual to reflect upon their own learning and/or achievement and to plan for their personal education and career development’

Why do PDP Helps keep you motivated by getting you to identify who you are where you are just now where you want to get to what you still need to do to achieve your goals

Taking part in PDP activities arranged by your school Reflecting on what you have learned about YOU from those activities Identifying what more YOU need to do to develop and how to do that Talking through YOUR progress and plans with your tutor on a regular basis Building up evidence of YOUR achievements in a portfolio

Academic development : 

Academic development Highlights areas of strengths and weaknesses (SWOT). Assists in understanding what and why you are learning in key areas. Helps you identify transferable skills Develops strategic thinking abilities. Helps you cope with exam preparation. Improves your experience.

Personal Skills : 

Personal Skills Helps identify your strengths and weaknesses. Helps you build your self-confidence. Provides a sense of purpose and motivation as you meet your own goals Improve your decision making. Provides you with the opportunity to become more self reliant and in control of your learning and your future.

Career Planning : 

Career Planning Assists you with future options. Guides you to what job is suitable for you. Gives you evidence of the skills that you can offer employers Makes you aware of what opportunities may be available Can influence summer course, part time work/placement decision. Better prepares you for applying and preparing for employment
