Mandibular 1st and 2nd Molar:

Mandibular 1 st and 2 nd Molar

Slide 3:

Two lingual cusps(pionted) Central fossa(major fossa) Distal triangular fossa Mesial triangular fossa Buccal cusp(rounded )

Slide 4:

1 st and second mandibular molar Mandibular 1 st molar is larger mesiodistally than second molar also occlusal features are less marked in 2 nd molar than in 1 st molar. Distal cusp (third cusp present on buccal surface)

Maxillary 1st and second molars:

Maxillary 1 st and second molars Oblique ridge distinguishing feature b/w max n mand molars Cusp of carabelli Transverse ridge formed by mesial ridge of mesiopalatal cusp and triangulr ridge of mesiobuccal cusp Mesiopalatal cusp with no cusp of carabelli (largest cusp involve in making oblique n transverse rigdes) Mesio buccal cusp involve n making transverse rigde wid mesiopalata

Slide 6:

Larger mesiopalatal cusp Mesiobuccal cusp smallr than mesiopalatal Distobuccal cusp smallr than mesiobuccal Distaopalatal cusp smallr than distobuccal Cusp of carebelli smallest nonfunctional

Slide 7:

Primary cusp ridge triangle formed by triangular ridges of three major cusp (mesiopalatal , mesiobuccal, distobuccal) Maxillary sec molar doesn’t have cusp of carebelli , n smaller in all dimension than max 1 st molar.

Buccal view of maxillary 1st & 2nd molar:

Buccal view of maxillary 1 st & 2 nd molar Max 1 st molar greater in mesiodistal dimension Max 2 nd molar smaller in mesiodistal dimension

Max 1st & 2nd molar palatal view:

Max 1 st & 2 nd molar palatal view Max 1 st molar. Greatr in mesiodistal dimension than 2 nd molar. Have cusp of carabelli palatal to mesiopalatal cusp Max 2 nd molar small in mesiodistal dimension . Don’t have any cusp of caraballi

Maxillary premolar:

Maxillary premolar Tranverse ridge formed by triangular ridges of buccal and palatal cusps Mesial marginal ridge having a groove called mesial marginal developmnt groove MMDG (dis groove is present only in max first premolar)) Distal marginal ridge

Slide 11:

Central developmnt groove(CDG) divied occlusal surface into two halves (buccal and palatal) On the mesial marginal ridge CDG is joined by MMDG. Mesial triangulr fossa Distal triangular fossa

Slide 12:

Max 1 st is larger than max 2 nd Max 1 st premolar mesial cusp slope is longer than distal Only maxillary first premolar has a bifurcated root (two roots, one buccal and one lingual) M ax first premol a r have sharp buccal cusp & blunt/rounded palatal cusp

Bifurcated roots of max first premol:

Max first premolr buccal view:

M ax first premolr buccal view P alatal cusp rounded or blunt B uccal cusp sharp

2nd maxillary Premolar :

M ax sec premolar resembles max first premol ar. I t has no bifurcated root . Mesial cuspal slope is shorter than distal in contrast to max first premolar. Buccal & palatal cusps are of same length in contrast to max first in which palatal cusp is slightly shorter than buccal cusp. Occlusal surface has irregular CDG with multiple supplemental groove. 2 nd maxillary Premolar

Occlusal view of max 1st n 2nd premolar:

Max 2nd premolar single rooted (mesial & distal view):

Max 2 nd premolar single rooted ( mesial & distal view)

Mandibular premolars :

Mandibular premolars

Mandibular Premolars:

The mandibular first premolars have a long and well formed buccal cusp and a small, nonfunctioning lingual cusp. The mandibular first premolars are smaller and shorter than mandibular second premolar. Single root with single canal. Lingual cusp is small, usually with pointed tip. Mesiobuccal cusp ridge is shorter than distobuccal Mandibular Premolars

Mandibular second premolar:

T here are two forms . T wo cusp type & three cusp type M and ibular sec ond premol ar

Slide 23:

M esiobuccal cusp ridge is short e r than distobuccal . Buccal cusp > mesiolingual>distolingual on 3 cusp type. Cusps are seperatd by deep developmental groove forming a “Y” shaped pattern on occlusal surface in three cusp type tooth In two cusp type tooth CDG is present which terminate in mesial & distal triangular fossa.

Max & Mand Canine buccal view:

M ax & M and C anine buccal view M axillary canine larg e r mesio distally than mand canine M and canine small mesio distally than max also features on buccal surface are less mark e d than on maxillary canine

Max & mand canine lingual view:

M ax & mand canine lingual view L arg e r mesio distally than mand canine also landmarks are more prominent than in mand canine M and canine less prominent land marks including lingual ridge and lingual developmental grooves

Max central & lateral Incisor:

M ax central & lat eral I nc i sor C entral inc is broad e r mesiodistally than lateral also mesioincisal n distoincisal angles are pointed than lateral incisors

Lingual view of max & mand incisor:
