Compound 1 : Compound 1 Table salt – This is a chemical combination of Sodium and Chlorine atoms, which results in the creation of the NaCl molecule. Compound 2 : Compound 2 Water – The simple necessity of humans is actually two elements chemically combined, Hydrogen and Oxygen atoms, to create the H2O molecule. Mixture 1 : Mixture 1 Clouds – These are mixtures of water and air which float because they are lighter than the atmosphere. They contain tiny drops of liquid, which becomes rain when they grow heavy enough. Mixture 2 : Mixture 2 Ink – This is a mixture of many different colors. In this picture there are many separate spots of color, because the water carries the different molecules of color along the paper at different rates. Mixture 3 : Mixture 3 Eggs – In this picture, there are three parts of the egg: yoke, white, and shell. These are all separate parts of the egg which make it a mixture. Homogeneous Mixture 1 : Homogeneous Mixture 1 Blood – These are blood cells, which make up blood. There are many elements that are in blood that are essential to life, such as sugar, iron, and plasma to name a few, although these are not differentiable by humans Homogeneous Mixture 2 : Homogeneous Mixture 2 Air – These test tubes may appear empty, but they are constantly full with a mixture. Air is a mixture of hundreds of particles along with Oxygen that are not distinguishable by humans Heterogeneous Mixture 1 : Heterogeneous Mixture 1 Cereal – This is a mixture of cereal, milk, strawberries, and bananas. This is why it is classified as a mixture, but the reason it is heterogeneous is that they can all be distinguished from each other. Heterogeneous mixture 2 : Heterogeneous mixture 2 Matzo Ball Soup – This is a bowl of soup, which contains matzo balls, carrots, chicken broth, and parsley. These are all distinguishable, therefore a heterogeneous mixture. You do not have the permission to view this presentation. In order to view it, please contact the author of the presentation.
