Mid Term Polls - 2014 FIRST SECOND THIRD FOURTH Midterm Elections in the United States  took place on Tuesday, November 4, 2014. Throughout the  midterm election year, all 435 seats in United States House of Representatives  & 36 of 100 seats in United States Senate were contested. 38 state & territorial  governorships, 46 state legislatures, four territorial legislatures, & several state & local Channels . This midterm election became the most exorbitant with gross spending reaching $3.7 billion.
