One night while returning home from a gig, I noticed this woman sitting across from me all alone, and wearing her"game face". I've seen that "game face" on so many woman who return home from work on the trains at night, and I understood it. They had to make themselves look cold, hard and unapproachable as a defense mechanism to send out a signal to the creeps who approach them on a nightly basis. i STILL caricatures her, but couldn't get the thought of her out of my mind, I drew this cartoon based on a scene "Id like to see" if she was ever approached. In NYC in the 80's especially, a lot of women took a course in "MODEL MUGGING" where they learned some VERY effective ,practical, and idiot proof self defense techniques, like the one she employs here.
