Step #5 – Edit Your Website All the basics are done! Now it’s time to create your pages so the world will know about your event.

Slide 11:

Jade and Philip’s Home Page How’d they do that? Click the blue edit button next to the Home Page link and we’ll show you!

Slide 12:

Editing the Home Page The majority of the content on your website will be text (telling people things) and photos (showing people things!) Let’s start by entering some text…

Slide 13:

Editing the Home Page - text When entering text for your website, simply type! Similar to email editors and word processors you may be used to, you can type and format the text using the icons at the top.

Slide 14:

Editing the Home Page - images Click the image icon at the top left of your editor to bring up the image editor.

Slide 15:

Editing the Home Page - images Select an image from wherever your pictures are stored using the Browse… button, and click the upload image.

Slide 16:

Editing the Home Page - images Once you’ve uploaded the image, you will see this screen, where you can make changes to the size, border, margins, and alignment of the image. The size (width and height) will be the items you will probably change the most, as you see how your image looks on your page. The Align feature allows you to specify whether you want this image on the left or right side of your website. You can always change these settings by right-clicking on the image and going to Image Properties.

Slide 17:

Voila!! Your home page is complete! Let’s move on to some other pages. The hardest part is over! Let’s see what Jade and Philip’s About Us page looks like.

Slide 18:

About Us You will notice that creating the About Us page looks very similar to the Home Page, because it is! Again, simply use the text editor to type, and the image tool to add photos.

Slide 19:

The Finished Product Let’s move on to something a little different. Let’s look at the Contact Us page.

Slide 20:

Contact Us Page Here, we’ve put two of the editors on the screen. The first is for you to invite people to send you a message about your event. The second is a simple thank you for them contacting you. Again, the editor is the exact same editor as you saw before. Let’s look at the Guest Book!

Slide 21:

Guest Book Again, we are giving you the opportunity to invite visitors to your website to interact. Here, you can invite them to sign your guestbook. We have given you another edit screen to put a message in. Let’s see what Jade and Philip’s look like.

Slide 22:

Guest Book There is a link saying “Sign Guestbook” that brings up a small pop-up where they can enter their name and a quick message. That’s all! Let’s look at location next.

Slide 23:

Location Here, we allow you to enter the different locations that may be involved in your event. In Jade and Philip’s case, it is a ceremony location and a reception location. Just click the “Add” button to add more locations.

Slide 24:

Custom Pages - photos You can build up to 3 custom pages for your website. Again, they simply allow you to use the editor to create whatever content you like! Here is Jade and Philip’s photo page.

Slide 25:

Custom Pages - links Here, Jade and Philip made a custom page that had useful links for people coming to the event. To create a link, just use the icon next to the image icon in your content editor.
