PRINCIPLE . It is coupled with the principles of gas chromatography and mass spectrometry The chromatography utilizes a capillary column which depends on the column's dimensions (length, diameter, film thickness) as well as the phase properties (e.g. 5% phenyl polysiloxane). Then it is seperated by elution technique. Then the eluent is bombarded with a series of electrons in the ionization chamber and then detected by quadrupole or ion trap system
