Slide3:

But you can help!

Air pollution:

Air pollution Why it’s bad: Over 2.4 million people die each year from air pollution . Over 31 million tons of sulfur dioxide and 10 million tons of carbon dioxide are emitted each year. How you can help: Walk or bike to school Eat more vegetables and fruits, and less meat and dairy. Ask your parents to write letters to city council members, your representative, or to your state senators, asking for stricter laws on air quality.

CO2 (Global Warming):

CO2 (Global Warming) Why it’s bad: Many species will die, and many already have gone extinct! All the climates will change, and there will be a new ice age in Europe! How you can help: Do all the things listed under “Air Pollution” Don’t use the computer or TV too much. On hot days, instead of turning on the AC or a big fan, just use a small hand fan and dress lightly. Use an energy efficient car, and use a diesel engine. Remember to turn of lights when you leave the room.

Trash:

Trash Why it’s bad: As the trash decomposes, it releases toxins into the water. How would you like to drink what’s in you garbage can? As landfills fill up, we have to build new ones, and they destroy natural habitats, as well as looking terrible.
