Continents and Oceans :Continents and Oceans
Africa :Africa The 2nd largest continent in the world. Only Asia has more people living on the continent.
Antarctica :Antarctica This continent is located at the South Pole. It is the coldest place on earth. Antarctica is almost totally covered by ice, but it also has the largest desert in the world.
Asia :Asia Asia is the largest continent in the world. This continent has the largest population of people in the world.
Australia :Australia This is the smallest continent in the world and the only on that is an island too. Australia has a nickname “land down under”. Can you guess why? A large part of Australia is desert.
Europe :Europe Europe is the worlds second smallest continent and the third most populated. It is a peninsula, but not surrounded by ocean and it does not have any deserts.
North America :North America This continent boarders three oceans, the Atlantic, Pacific and Arctic. North America is the continent that U.S.A. is located on.
South America :South America Most of South America is in the southern hemisphere. It has mountains, a desert, rain forest and a basin.
Arctic Ocean :Arctic Ocean The Arctic Ocean is around the North Pole, bordering Europe, Asia and North America. This is the smallest ocean.
Atlantic Ocean :Atlantic Ocean The Atlantic Ocean borders both North and South America, Western Europe, Africa and Antarctica.
Pacific Ocean :Pacific Ocean The Pacific Ocean borders North and South America, Asia, Australia, and Antarctica. It is the largest ocean.
Indian Ocean :Indian Ocean The Indian Ocean borders Africa, Asia, Australia, and Antarctica.
Southern Ocean :Southern Ocean The Southern Ocean is the 5th ocean discovered in 2000. It only borders only Antarctica.
