Premium member Presentation Transcript Slide 1: On May 22, 2011, at approximately 5:41 PM, Joplin, Missouri was devastated by an EF-5 tornado that resulted in over 900 injuries and 141 deaths. The massive tornado cut a 14 mile path through the south side of the city, packing winds of over 200 miles per hour. An estimated 8,000 homes and apartments were damaged or destroyed, as well as hundreds of commercial properties. It is being recorded as the single most deadly tornado in over 60 years.
