Hardware Highlights:

Hardware Highlights 6 5 th Generation imageCHIP System Architecture For the first time, these devices employ the latest imageCHIP system architecture consisting of dual controller, Intel 800MHz Chip and Canon-developed System-On-Chip . This architecture speed up performance to 1.5 to 3 times than iR3045/3035/3025 series. These technology greatly enhance overall performance of printing, MEAP, Web Access, and Function Flow capabilities. Wireless LAN These new devices support IEEE802.1b/g Wireless LAN connectivity . Connecting these devices in a Wi-Fi environment allows users to print from anywhere in their office and give users access to corporate data at LAN-equivalent performance levels. *Wireless LAN option availability may vary by region, currently only for Singapore, Thailand, and India. Gigabit Ethernet These devices support the 1000 Base T Ethernet network interface as standard features, allowing for faster transmission rate in Gigabit Ethernet environment.

Device Function Enhancements:

Device Function Enhancements 7 Naming Rule Setting This function enables the creation of the Send file name based on present naming rule , and realizes timesaving by automatically giving the Send document name according to the job. IPv6 Support The imageRUNNER 3245/3235/3225 support Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6), which is a network layer protocol designed as the successor of IPv4 for general use on the Internet. Support for IPv6 adds extended business value to the devices. Address Book Incremental find As the user types, the matched contact is found and highlighted . This gives users faster feedback about matches, allowing them to stop short of typing the entire name or word they were looking for. Password Registration for PDF Security When performing the Encrypted PDF Send after user authentication via Single-Sign-On (SSO), it is now possible to register one set of encryption password for each user (per login user name). This gives user faster creation of encrypted PDF send documents. Real 1200dpi Print The high-performance four-beam laser unit achieves higher-accuracy output up to 1200 x 1200 dpi print resolution. IPSec Support These devices offer encrypted communication protocol for securing Internet Protocol (IP) communication by authenticating and encrypting each IP Packet in a data stream. Support for IPSec adds extended business value to the devices.

Standard Feature Enhancements:

Standard Feature Enhancements 8 TFT Touch Panel The imageRUNNER 3245/3235/3225 devices increased operability through its high responsive color TFT touch panel user interface . By adopting a TFT technology, the imageRUNNER 3245/3235/3225 realized faster display speed and wider viewing angle than the current iR series. XPS File Format These devices support XPS, the new digital document file format and being promoted by Microsoft . XPS files can be viewed by any PC equipped with Microsoft Windows Vista or XP with XPS viewer software, and look and print just like the original.

Standard Feature Enhancements:

Standard Feature Enhancements 9 Compact CCD Sensor The built-in CCD is compact and lightweight, reliable and faithful color scanning. The CCD sensor achieves maximum brilliance for improved exposure and better depth-of-field when scanning for sharper images than the current iR3045/3035/3025 devices. Scanning in Color The imageRUNNER 3245/3235/3225 devices support color scanning to provide more accurate and advanced document distribution. Supports 300 x 300dpi color scan with the standard memory and up to 600 x 600dpi with additional memory upgrades. The devices scan up to 51 images per minute in both B&W and color mode (for 600dpi B&W, 300dpi Color). High Capacity DADF The reader also support high capacity DADF of 100-sheets . It automatically sends the original placed in the feeder to the platen glass to perform simplex/duplex scanning. Continuous Run For the first time for mid volume iR series, these devices allows users to exchange an empty container for a new one while the system is running . This eliminates the need to shut down the machine and wait through warm-up periods before copying/printing begins again. * System software upgrade is required, available by July 2008

Device Function Enhancements:

Device Function Enhancements 10 3-Line Fax For the first time, the 3-line fax is supported . When the 3-Line fax is installed, these devices serves as 3 line fax machine. This allows customers the ability to triple their fax capacity and productivity with minimal investment, eliminating the need to purchase a second/third fax machine and associated supplies, saving space and money. Direct USB Memory Connectivity The imageRUNNER 3245/3235/3225 support direct connectivity with USB Memory media. This function enables user to save scanned document by using these devices directly to USB Memory media without using PC. In additional, user also can print PDF, JPEG, and TIFF file formats directly from USB Memory media. External USB Keyboard In additional to conventional USB port at the rear-side, additional USB port are newly added to the side of main unit control panel. These USB ports can be used to connect a USB keyboard to simplifies data entry at the device . Serial ATA Hard Disk The imageRUNNER 3245/3235/3225 adopting the Serial ATA (SATA) hard disk specification. The SATA has higher potential to increase the transmission rate then the current iR devices.

Hardware Highlights:

Hardware Highlights 11 Four Beam Laser Unit These devices utilize a four beam laser unit. The unit has a high-accuracy laser oscillator to faithfully form images onto the photosensitive drum at a faster speed. These help to achieve high-speed output of up to 45 pages per minute and superior image quality. The device features print quality of up to 1200 x 1200 dpi print resolution. Control Panel These devices feature large-size 7.5” Color TFT touch screen. It is designed with outstanding usability with faster display speed and wider viewing angle than the current iR series.

Hardware Highlights:

Hardware Highlights 12 Color Image Reader Unit The image reader unit scans document so they can be converted into image data and sent to the controller. Color scanning is supported to provide more accurate and advanced document distribution. The reader unit also features continuous flow scans to allow users to make high-volume copies of a single document in a single scan, and automatic spot detection to prevent black streaks or spots from appearing on the output. High Speed Scanning With multiple business application come varying degrees of scanning requirement. The new Document Feeder in conjunction with new Compact CCD sensor enables high speed scanning of 51ipm for both monochrome and color scanning . In additional, A 100 sheet document feeder helps cope with scanning and sizeable copy runs, accommodating document with different sized pages

Hardware Highlights:

Hardware Highlights 13 Vertical Paper Path Mechanism The Paper path is designed to accommodate the vertical paper transport mechanism, which transport paper vertically for image transfer and fixing. The paper transport, image transfer, and toner fixing stations are built on the right side of the main unit, from which jammed paper can be pulled out. The vertical structure allows for a compact footprint, and the shortened transport path help to accelerate the print speed. Gigabit Ethernet Network Interface These devices support the 10/100/1000 Base-T Ethernet network interface as standard features , allowing for seamless integration in corporate networks where multiple operating systems run concurrently using multiple protocols such as TCP/IP, SMB, AppleTalk, and IPX/SPX.

Hardware Highlights:

Hardware Highlights 14 Wireless LAN These new devices support IEEE802.1b/g Wireless LAN connectivity . Connecting these devices in a Wi-Fi environment allows users to print from anywhere in their office and give users access to corporate data at LAN-equivalent performance levels. *Wireless LAN option availability may vary by region, currently only for Singapore, Thailand, and India. Continuous Run For the first time for mid volume iR series, these devices allows users to exchange an empty container for a new one while the system is running . This eliminates the need to shut down the machine and wait through warm-up periods before copying/printing begins again. * System software upgrade is required, available by July 2008
