Animals

CAT : 

CAT The cat says, “meow”. Very common house pets.

Bee : 

Bee Bees make honey and have stingers. “Bzzzz”….

Monkey : 

Monkey Monkeys use their long arms to swing from trees. “ooh ooh ah ah”.

Bird : 

Bird Birds have wings and can fly. “chirp chirp”.

Dog : 

Dog Dogs are domesticated animals. “woof woof”.

Butterfly : 

Butterfly Butterflies taste with their feet.

Chicken : 

Chicken Chickens lay eggs. “cluck cluck”.

Snake : 

Snake Snakes slither along the ground….”sss”

Elephant : 

Elephant Elephants have long trunks and are the largest land animals in the world.

Panda : 

Panda Pandas eat bamboo and live in China.

Giraffe : 

Giraffe The giraffe is the tallest animal in the world because of it’s long neck.

Flamingo : 

Flamingo Flamingos have long skinny legs and pink feathers.

Turtle : 

Turtle Turtles have hard shells on their backs for protection.

Rabbit : 

Rabbit Rabbits are furry animals that hop and eat carrots. Very cute….

Cow : 

Cow Cows are mammals that give us milk and beef to eat.

Fish : 

Fish Fish use fins to swim and have gills to breathe underwater.

Gazelle : 

Gazelle Gazelles live in the desert, eat plants and vegetables, and can run very fast.

Hippopotamus : 

Hippopotamus Hippos are very aggressive animals that live near the water in Africa. 3rd heaviest land animal.

Polar Bear : 

Polar Bear Giant bears that live in the Arctic and eat fish. Are becoming endangered due to glaciers melting.

Rat : 

Rat Larger than a mouse. Some countries have rats as pets or eat them. Known for spreading diseases.

Wolf : 

Wolf Travel in packs. Very territorial. Eat other larger animals. Make howling sounds.

Armadillo : 

Armadillo Small animals that have a leathery armored shell for protection. Use their sharp claws to dig for food in the dirt.

Buffalo (American Bison) : 

Buffalo (American Bison) Massive beast. East plants and grass. Have giant horns on their heads.

Camel : 

Camel Domesticated animals that provide food, milk, and transport for people. They store food and water in their humps.

Chameleon : 

Chameleon Eat other insects. They change their skin color to blend in with their surroundings so they don’t get eaten.

Dingo : 

Dingo Similar to wolves. They live in packs but travel alone. They are wild dogs and live mainly in Australia.

Donkey : 

Donkey Donkeys have been used to transport supplies on the their backs for the last 6,000 years.

Beaver : 

Beaver Beavers live near water and build dams and canals.

Zebra : 

Zebra Have excellent eyesight and black and white stripes covering their bodies. They eat grass and shrubs.

Alligator : 

Alligator Bone crushing teeth. Has been on Earth for 200 million years. Live in the USA and China.

Bat : 

Bat “Flying Rats”. They are mammals that live in dark caves. Not friendly.

Chipmunk : 

Chipmunk Eat both meat and plants. They burrow themselves into the ground. Very small and cute.

Horse : 

Horse Assist humans in agriculture, transportation, police work, sports, and therapy. Have long manes and very friendly. They eat hay.

Kangaroo : 

Kangaroo They hop on their back legs and carry their babies (Joey’s) in their pouches.

Koala Bear : 

Koala Bear Eat eucalyptus leaves and can be very violent with their claws and teeth if disturbed.

Pig : 

Pig Very smart animals. Are a main food source from humans. They like to play in the mud.

Porcupine : 

Porcupine 3rd largest rodent. Have sharp quills and spikes for protection.

Skunk : 

Skunk Mammals that are striped and spray a stinky odor for protection.

Walrus : 

Walrus Giant tusks and whiskers. Lives in the cold ocean water. Has a thick layer of blubber to keep it warm.

Bear : 

Bear Can stand on their feet. Hunt prey in the woods. Hibernate for the winter.

Cheetah : 

Cheetah Fastest of the land animals. Meat-eaters. Hunt by vision rather than scent.

Frog : 

Frog Have webbed feet. Live on both land and the water. Some are poisonous.
