Selected Photographs 1. I chose to select this photograph because the light is perfectly exposed to the necklace from all angles, this makes the metal bird and feather stand out again the feathers behind it. Also all the feathers are positioned properly, you can see the detail on them. The image is all focused and there are no parts of the image that are blurry. The background contrasts against the necklace and makes the necklace more dominant. You can see each detail on the bird, this makes the photograph look professional, also there are no other distractions in the photograph . The framing of the photograph was not central to the necklace. I chose to do this because if the necklace was placed directly in front of camera you would not of got the angle f the feather or bird, also you would not of been able to create a shadow effect. 2. This photo was selected because of the use of colour. The background contrasts against the blue that is in the middle of the hand. It does not look like any ordinary back ground has been chosen. The hand itself is more focused towards the top left and then gets slightly blurry towards the bottom. This shows a shallow depth of field. You can see the detail on the necklace; there is natural light being exposed on the left side of the necklace to create a relaxing emotion. The framing of the photograph was very basic. By being extremely close up to the hand the lens focused mainly on the blue stone and flower. A reason why I wanted the framing to be central and close up was because you are able to see all the detail in the necklace and the material behind it.

3. This photograph was selected because it is very focused and sharp. I used a macro type shot so that I could capture the detail of the ring. You can see the exposure of natural light shine on to the ring from the top left corner. Also you can see back reflections in the ring. This shows that it is a extreme close up. The back ground was kept plain to make the ring the dominant object in the photograph. The image has a shallow depth of field,. I chose to create a shallow depth of field because it made the object stand out more to the viewers eye, I chose the frame the photograph like this because it is eye view for the audience. Also it brings a sense of depth of field in to the photograph. Another reason I chose to select this photograph was because of the use of different colours used in the image. The gold framing in the ring contrasts against the clear back ground, this makes the ring more interesting and noticeable 4. This photograph was selected because it shows a great depth of field and also the ring is well focused. This photo was a macro type shot, the lens was focused on to the ring so it made the rest of the background blurry. You can also see that the ring has a large exposure of light hitting it from the right corner, this showed the detail in the stone of the ring. Also by the light hitting the side it made the diamonds on the outer rim of the stone shine, This would direct the viewers eye straight to the ring. By being a close up you can also see the detail of the models skin on her hand. Because the light is so exposing it helps to show the rings beauty. The framing of the photo allowed me to get the full effect of the rings purpose. The way the ring is positioned in the photograph helps the ring to be very eye catching to the audience.

5. 6. I chose to select this photograph because of the clearness of the photo. You can see all the colour’ s of the stones that are on the brooch and also on the cross. The photo also shows a good use of framing, the main object is directly in the middle so it is perfect eye view for the audience. Also because the pieces of jewellery are on a black back ground it makes the objects more dominant and helps them stand out which shows good use of contrast. The photo was took as a close up so I was able to get all the details of the piece, however the only light that was being exposed in the photograph was off the flash. This was better because it did not make the photo blurry. The use of colour in the image makes a good advantage to the photograph because it is black again white. I decided to select this image simply because of the positioning of the hand and the piece of jewellery itself. The light that is being exposed to the hand creates a dark and light effect to the jewellery piece; the light is only being exposed from one corner in the photo. It even creates a shadow under the bird. It was taken on close up mode so that I could get the full detail of the bird without it being blurry. I managed to get the lens focused enough so that it was a clear photo. The framing was exactly how I wanted it, you can see how to wear the piece and also it makes the hand look elegant. By the way the hand is placed it represent a powerful and very feminine look. Therefore it would be more attractive to the audience. The background was used to make the object and hand stand out more because it was an unusual colour, but a better one could have been used.

7. 8. I chose to select this photograph because it is very focused and clear, also it is very central. Because it was taken as a close up, the object looks much bigger than it actually was, but it shows the detail in the framing of the object, and also you can see clearly the image that is it on. You can also see the fabric on the brooch so you can imagine what it feels like. The background also links in with the object because they both use blue colour’s. The object was also placed in a good place as well because it is directly in the center of the background, which I was pleased with. There is light exposure being portrayed from the left top corner which is shining on a part of the object, this made parts of the object lighter than others but it still shows detail so it made it stand out more. The reason I chose to select this photograph was because of the background in the image and also how focused it was. I decided to use a animal print back ground because it portrayed the tribal theme and also the ring contrasted well against the background because it is silver. With the background being 3D it made the object look surrounded which made it unusual. There is plenty of light exposure in this photograph which showed more detail to the ring. There was light shining on the background which made the background more blurry, but it showed a god depth of field. The main part of the image which was the section were the ring was, was more clear then the rest of the image. The framing of the photograph was good because it showed the rule of thirds, also I decided not to put the ring in the middle of the image because it is more pleasing for the eye if it is placed to the side. It allows he eye to scan the rest of the image.

9. 10. I chose to select this photograph because the focus and sharpness of the image was very clear and precise. The was no un-sharp parts in the image. This showed the details and colours on the object. Because there was a shallow depth of field it made the object stand out more and made it very eye catching. The image was taken directly under a light so I could get the light fully exposed to the gems on the object, by doing this it allowed the gems to have a shine to them. I like the use of colour in this image. I decided to use a plain background so it would make the gems more noticeable; there are no other colours in the image. The framing in the photograph was all equal and was planned before the photo got taken. The object was placed in the middle of the two lines on the scarf to make the photo look more proportioned. I decided to select this photograph for a few reasons. The first being because of the pieces of jewellery being used. The ring and watch are both very clear and sharp so they show good detail, also they are both vintage items. I decided to place the hand in front of the models face to show that the pieces are more important and dominant. Also to show that the objects are the main purpose of the image. The colours of the objects are both bright, they contrast against each other and help one another stand out. The photograph was taken outside so that the light could be exposed to them, by having the light being portrayed on them it made them stand out more as well as making the photo look more natural. The wooden fence and the check shirt that the model Is wearing also show that it is a vintage photos hoot. The background was also kept plain and simple so that it did not take the attention of the two main objects. The framing of the photograph was decided by focusing the watch directly at the bottom of the photo, by having the hand central in the photo it was perfect eye view for my audience.
