In 1973, a group of selected farmers from Cavite, was trained for livestock and poultry production in IIRR’s People School. After the training, these Farmer Scholars experienced low supply and poor quality of feeds for their livestock projects. If feeds were available, the cost was prohibitive and limited in access to small livestock farmers.

Recognizing the urgency of this situation and sensing the need for high quality feeds at reasonable cost for the farmers, CAFFMACO was formed and organized. A trisectoral body made trainings easy for the 22 selected barangay scholars.
