It also resulted in the organization of transport, community and institutional cooperatives Slide 11: Provincial Cooperative, Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Development Office Prior to PCDC there were 594 cooperatives but now there are 834 cooperatives in Cavite, majority of which are quality cooperatives Slide 12: Provincial Cooperative, Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Development Office The Cooperative Division was created in 2002 Slide 13: Provincial Cooperative, Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Development Office Technical guidance, financial assistance and services shall be provided to enable cooperatives to develop into viable and responsive economic enterprises Slide 14: Provincial Cooperative, Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Development Office It was recently merged with the Office of Economic Opportunities and Livelihood Division and a new office called the Provincial Cooperative, Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Development Office came into existence. It will be a full-pledge department by January 2006 Slide 15: Provincial Cooperative, Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Development Office Issuance of EO no. 8-A instructing the PCDC and the Coop Division for the formation of coops in the economic and industrial zones Gov. Maliksi explaining E.O No. 8-A to the Presidents and Administrators of Industrial Zones in Cavite Slide 16: Provincial Cooperative, Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Development Office Due to EO 8-A, several coops were established in the Philippine Economic Zone Authority, Gateway Business Park, People’s Technology Complex and First Cavite Industrial Estate Slide 17: Provincial Cooperative, Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Development Office Construction of the Cavite Cooperative Development Center Slide 18: Provincial Cooperative, Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Development Office CaCoDeC is a common venue where all stakeholders can be trained and educated and issues can be beneficially discussed Slide 19: Provincial Cooperative, Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Development Office It houses the offices of the PCDC, Cooperative Union of Cavite, the CDA and the Provincial Cooperative, Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Development Office Slide 20: Provincial Cooperative, Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Development Office It is a forum for the discussion of various problems, issues and concerns and has been a silent witness to the various proposals and resolutions achieve in those discussions Slide 21: Provincial Cooperative, Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Development Office Provision of Financial Assistance Slide 22: Provincial Cooperative, Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Development Office Every year hundreds of communicating equipment, computers and financial aids were provided to coops. For 2005 more than P3.6M in assistance were provided to coops Slide 23: Provincial Cooperative, Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Development Office Issuance of Memo Circular requesting for an appointment of city/municipal cooperative development officers resulting to the appointment/designation of 23 CCDOs/MCDOs resulting in a coordinated move for a “cooperative revolution” Slide 24: Provincial Cooperative, Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Development Office Re-Lending Programs Slide 25: Provincial Cooperative, Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Development Office Soft loans were provided through the PCDC Re-Lending Program. It is interest-free and payable in 12 months. For 2003 and 2004, P2.5M and P2.3M were released respectively benefiting hundreds of cooperatives Slide 26: Provincial Cooperative, Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Development Office Slide 27: Provincial Cooperative, Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Development Office The “Maliksing Pangkabuhayan sa Koop,” a P1.0M program for self sufficiency among coop members. It offers mobile stores to members of coops affiliated with an apex organization in the province Slide 28: Provincial Cooperative, Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Development Office To assists coops and SMEs market their products and services, a showroom was established inside CaCoDeC. The Entrepreneurial Division assists these entrepreneurs financially and technically from production to packaging to market matching. One Town, One Product Program Slide 29: Provincial Cooperative, Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Development Office The Coop Data Bank was established due to the need for an accurate coop data. It is very helpful to students, researchers and cooperators who wanted to know the status of coops in Cavite Slide 30: Provincial Cooperative, Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Development Office As of December 2004 Number of Coop Members – 60,839 Volume of Transactions - P1.5B Total Assets - P1.1B Total Equity - P551M As of December 2008 Number of Coop Members – 66,916 Volume of Transactions - P3.2B Total Assets - P2.0B Total Equity - P778M Slide 31: Provincial Cooperative, Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Development Office The Provincial Government financially assisted the CUC for the production of the book which documented and compiled the cooperative stories in the province. “Cooperative Power: Changing Lives” Slide 32: Provincial Cooperative, Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Development Office The Provincial Government financially assisted the CUC for the production of the book which is a module for coop leaders and would be leaders. An active campaign is for all BOD to undergo Directorship and Tools for Improved Performance Seminar Slide 40: Provincial Cooperative, Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Development Office The Province of Cavite has contributed P1.7Billion in 2003, P1.5Billion in 2004 and 3.2Billion in 2008 to the GNP, employing an estimated 2,179 individuals for the year 2004 and now 1,600 individuals in 2008. Slide 41: Provincial Cooperative, Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Development Office The technical and financial assistance provided improved service, revitalized operations, established coops in the economic zones and products breezing their way in the local and international market. It needs assistance from selfless, high morale leaders.
