There are now two procedures that can be done to increase the chance of recovery after a stroke. Both are proven to restore blood flow after clotting.
Tissue Plasminogen Activator, a clot-dissolving drug.
Merci Retriever, a devise that is shaped like a corkscrew is used to remove a clot from the artery.
Slide 8:This is a devise that is threaded through the artery to retrieve a clot and restore blood flow
After a Stroke :After a Stroke After someone suffers from a stroke there is often little that can be done is it was not caught in a timely manner.
Depending on the severity, patients often are able to work with therapists to regain some of the functions they may have lost, to be able to function on a day to day basis.
