As algae grows it gets more concentrated and ends up in a continuous bag system followed by a continuous batch system in tanks.Oyster Larvae: Oyster Larvae Oyster larvae at approximately 15 days from fertilization using our own carefully selected brood stock. Larvae will develop an “eye spot” and a “foot”. This foot will “set” on cultch, or a powder-like substance consisting of ground cultch, by secreting a cement-like substance and become permanently bonded.Cultch: Cultch Cultch is recycled oyster shells. We recycle all of our oyster shells. When free swimming larvae “set” on cultch it is known as “spat”.
