Made up of people who are passionate about children & youth, want to contribute to the vision for children & youth ministry at LCR, and want to DO something to make a difference in the lives of children & youth. Milestones Ministry : Milestones Ministry 2010 Focus: Connecting Existing Milestones Baptism, Bible Presentation, First Communion, Confirmation, Graduation Subteam – Ryan Huckaby, Susan Osberg, Crystal Rowe Needs – Additional Subteam members Milestones Ministry : Milestones Ministry Looking at how we currently celebrate milestones and how we can better connect those milestones together. Look to include other milestones in the future, such as “Entering Sunday School for 2 year olds, First Time Campers, Entering Confirmation, and many more” Sunday School : Sunday School Lectionary Based for all ages Ages 2 – 6th grade: SPARK 7th-8th grade: Reviewing curricula 9th-12th grade: Reviewing curricula Adults: Pastor Dave Beginning to shift towards relational learning (small groups) Needs Subteam to work together on visioning and future planning Additional substitutes for all ages Vacation Bible School : Vacation Bible School Mark Your Calendars!! Confirmation : Confirmation Sunday morning – lectionary Wednesday evening – 2010-11: Bible Outside events (All-Ga, Affirm, WOW) Service – inside and outside LCR Retreats Subteam – Crystal Rowe, Pastor Dave Needs – Adults who are willing to be mentors/leaders and who can help lead Wednesday evening activities, service activities, and outside events Small Groups : Small Groups Ideas (6th-12th grades) Girls Bible Study Guys Bible Study Movie Group Subteam – Crystal Rowe, Alyson Stephens, David Rowe, Danny Ritchie Needs 1-2 more people willing to serve on the Subteam and serve as mentors for small group leaders Youth Ministry : Youth Ministry Wednesday Evenings Subteam – Crystal Rowe, Alyson Stephens, David Rowe (need 2 youth and 1 more adult) Worship + activity Small Groups Youth Worship Planning/Leadership Retreats Youth Ministry : Youth Ministry Youth Mission Team Our trip to Knoxville for WOW (Win Our World) fired up youth of all ages to do service here, in their own backyards. High school youth serving as Leadership Team and working to make contacts for local “job sites” for possible WOW Saturday Events. Youth Ministry : Youth Ministry Youth Mission Team These youth need adult mentors and will be asking some of you to help. If you are asked, please say yes!! If you have a passion for helping youth lead and for mission work, please let us know! Youth Ministry : Youth Ministry Teens Encounter Christ (9th-12th) High School Labor Day/MLK Weekend 9 youth attended this past MLK Weekend and many are returning to staff over Labor Day All-Georgia (6th-12th) March 11-13 WOW (6th-12th) 20 youth attended in 2010, ages 11-18 Affirm (6th-12th) 13 youth attended in 2010 Lutheridge (1st-12th) 4 attended in 2010 GREAT opportunity for little ones! Youth Ministry : Youth Ministry Needs – faithful adults willing to walk alongside teens as they explore their discipleship journey Mentors for small group leaders Wednesday night leaders Event Coordinators – inside & outside Worship planning Mentors for Youth Mission Team Leaders WHERE WE ARE GOING : WHERE WE ARE GOING Family Life Center : Family Life Center Large Gathering Space with Kitchen Facilities 75-100 children & youth May double as a 3rd worship space 2 additional small group spaces Retrofit of current rooms Foster small group emphasis/relational learning Move playground area inside parking lot Staff : Staff History - Director of Children & Youth Responsible for programming for children & youth 0-21 years of age Growth in youth ministry – depth & breadth Youth involved in spiritual disciplines small group 32 different youth involved in outside summer activities 15-25 youth at Wednesday programming Increased involvement in worship Staff : Staff Future: Desired growth in children’s ministry Requires increased leadership resources 2 options Lay Volunteer Paid Staff Either position – 20 hours/week Volunteers : Volunteers As LCR grows, lay participation and involvement is MORE important, not less LCR will always need parents, volunteers & lay people who have a passion and an availability for children & youth ministry Partnership – Staff and volunteers working together to bring MORE children into DEEPER relationships with Jesus.
