“IDEAS” “KEY QUESTION” Did the writer stay focused and share original and fresh information or perspective about the topic? Points: The writing topic is clear and somewhat detailed There are related supporting details SCORE = 4

“ORGANIZATION” :

“ORGANIZATION” “KEY QUESTION” Does the organizational structure enhance the ideas and make it easier to understand? Points: The reading was easy to follow and rational, didn’t skip around too much Transitions, intro & conclusion were effective but a bit dull SCORE = 3

“VOICE”:

“VOICE” “KEY QUESTION” Would you keep reading the piece if it were longer? Points: Personal details are incorporated moderately. The student does write in a way that grabs the readers attention in a compelling way. SCORE = 4

“WORD CHOICE”:

“WORD CHOICE” “KEY QUESTION” Do the words and phrases create vivid pictures and linger in your mind? Points: Does a good job going into detailed description of performing a stunt on his skateboard. Makes a good attempt at creating imagery but vocabulary is fairly moderate. SCORE = 3

“SENTENCY FLUENCY” “KEY QUESTION” Can you feel the words and phrases flow together as you read it aloud? Points: Flow and rhythm are average. They convey the message. Sentence structures are very simple throughout. SCORE = 3

“CONVENTIONS” “KEY QUESTION” How much editing would have to be done to be ready to share with an outside source? Points: Very few spelling, punctuation, etc errors are present- little need for editing. Author has a good concept of paragraphing, handwriting, and paper formatting. SCORE = 4.5

CONCLUSIONS Very Intelligent student Easy to Read, good amount of conviction and enthusiasm For Improvement- Push the student to learn more words, longer sentences, and improve transitions.
