What are Clickers?:

What are Clickers? AKA’s Audience Response Systems Classroom Response System Student Response System “The Remote Control Looking Thing-a-Ma-Jig”

Clickers:

Clickers Transmit responses to a central device which then records the responses and displays results/findings often in graphs that indicates how many students selected each possible answer.

Why Use Clickers?:

Why Use Clickers? Allows students to respond anonymously Reduce fare/anxiety Able to get rapid feedback from students Test comprehension on the spot Increase classroom participation Keep students awake Gauge your effectiveness as an instructor

When Would I Consider Using Clickers?:

When Would I Consider Using Clickers? Giving quizzes over reading assignment A way to take attendance Testing students’ conceptual understanding as part of a peer-learning format Taking opinion polls to demonstrate the diversity of views on an important issue Posing provocative questions to promote discussion

Suggested Utilization Steps:

Suggested Utilization Steps Stage 1) Asking simple, primarily factual, questions as a starting point. Stage 2) Asking more challenging conceptual questions, or questions where the answer is not obvious and critical points could be argued.
