RELATIONAL ETHICS. : RELATIONAL ETHICS. People are our most important resources in the church. Church leaders MUST learn to relate with people APPROPRIATELY if the church must thrive and move forward. More than 75% of the success of a church depends on the people skill of her leaders. RELATIONAL ETHICS. : RELATIONAL ETHICS. A leader who cannot relate cannot lead, he/she is not a leader for real, but a boss in disguise. A church leader/staff must know how to view and relate with people in different ways and at different times. THE TRINITY OF CHURCH PEOPLE : THE TRINITY OF CHURCH PEOPLE Church members are in three major forms. Each of them takes a form each at a time. They all at one time or the other fall into all three forms. As they mature through the maturity of the leaders’ relationships with them, they learn to blend all the three forms together in an healthy manner. THE TRINITY OF CHURCH PEOPLE : THE TRINITY OF CHURCH PEOPLE 1. CUSTOMERS. They come with a desire to be served. THE TRINITY OF CHURCH PEOPLE : THE TRINITY OF CHURCH PEOPLE THEY DESIRE TO BE RESPECTED AND HONOURED. NEW PEOPLE IN CHURCH ARE LIKE A NEW CLIENT IN AN INSURANCE COMPANY. WONDERING IF THEY’RE SAFE. THE TRINITY OF CHURCH PEOPLE : THE TRINITY OF CHURCH PEOPLE CUSTOMERS AS PATIENTS THEY NEED HELP, CARE AND UNDERSTANDING. HENCE, THEY’RE SEEKING A DOCTOR-PATIENT RELATIONSHIP. THE TRINITY OF CHURCH PEOPLE : THE TRINITY OF CHURCH PEOPLE CUSTOMERS AS CLIENT Desire to be attended to with respect. THE TRINITY OF CHURCH PEOPLE : THE TRINITY OF CHURCH PEOPLE 2. FAMILY SO, THEY DEMAND LOVE AND A SENSE OF BELONGING. CHURCH MEMBERS AS FAMILY : CHURCH MEMBERS AS FAMILY IN THIS SENSE,THEY SHOULD BE LOVED AND REBUKED WITH WISDOM WHEN THEY ERR. 3.CHURCH MEMBERS ARE VOLUNTEERS. : 3.CHURCH MEMBERS ARE VOLUNTEERS. DESERVES APPRECIATION, DISCIPLINE AND TRAINNING. CUSTOMERS, FAMILY AND VOLUNTEERS. : CUSTOMERS, FAMILY AND VOLUNTEERS. A church leader must know when to be a doctor, sales person, legal adviser/advocate, father/mother, sister/brother, a coach/trainer, or an army comandant, because these are what the three natures of the members make of him/her. A church leader/ staff therefore is a bone and flesh, can be rigid or flexible, depending on whom and what is in question. CUSTOMERS, FAMILY AND VOLUNTEERS. : CUSTOMERS, FAMILY AND VOLUNTEERS. When some people abuse your guideance/retribution as a spiritual parent, you turn on the customer side to them, by giving them “expert’s” advice and leave it at that. When there fingers get burnt, you return to them in the ‘family’ spirit to offer love and comfort. That way, you earn their trust and respect when they remeber you warned them, but still came to comfort them. CUSTOMERS, FAMILY AND VOLUNTEERS. : CUSTOMERS, FAMILY AND VOLUNTEERS. Once they accept you as a family member, their spiritual guardian, it is easy to handle them as volunteers.i.e to discipline and train. They’ll always need you as their doctor and psychologist. “TO A WISE LEADER, EVEN HIS/HER SECOND IN COMMAND NEEDS HIS LEADERSHIP, FATHERLY COVERING AND SHEPHERDING.” CONCLUSION. : CONCLUSION. When you treat people right, they’ll see you rightly. What’s right for people differ one from another. CONSIDER: children,women,pregnant women,people with prolonged cases,jobless men,teenagers,young adults, people with major behavioural disorders like a nympho in your congregation, unhappily married folks,etc...
