INTRODUCTION:: INTRODUCTION: Strawberryis a perinnial, stoloniferous herb belongs to the Rosaceae family. conventionally propagated runner plants MATERIALS: MATERIALS Explant : Fresh nodes from strawberry mature plants Media : MS media. Other: HgCl2, twin 20 solution , double distilled water: Nodal segments used as explants EXPLANT METHOD: METHOD 1) WASHING OF EXPLANT : Washing of explant with twin 20 Surface sterilizetion with 0.5% mercuric chloride for 5 min Rinsing 4 times with double distilled water in laminar air flow chamber.PowerPoint Presentation: 2) INCUBATION : Small nodal segments (0.5–1.0 cm) were cultured on MS supplemented with specific concentration of growth regulators (BA, KIN and GA ) The cultures were incubated at 20 ± 2°C with 16 h photoperiodPowerPoint Presentation: Shoot proliferation on MS after 7 days of culturePowerPoint Presentation: 3) SUBCULTURING : Subcultures were done every 21 days interval Nodal segments from the proliferated shoots were subcultured again for further multiple shoot inductionPowerPoint Presentation: Shoot proliferation on MS after 20 days of culturePowerPoint Presentation: 4) ROOT INDUCTION : Regenerated multiple shoots were cut and individual shoots were placed in MS medium containing different concentrations of IBA and IAA for root induction.PowerPoint Presentation: Rooted shoots after 3 weeks.PowerPoint Presentation: 5) HARDENING : Rooted plantlets were taken out from culture tubes and washed thoroughly with tap water to remove the culture medium from the roots.PowerPoint Presentation: Washed plantlets were sprayed with fungicide and planted to normal and sterilized soil in polybags After 7 days the hardened plantlets were planted in soil.PowerPoint Presentation: Regenerated plantlets of strawberry in polybags after 20 days of transplantation6) CONCLUSION :: 6) CONCLUSION : It is observed that if conc. Of BA increased above 1.5mg/lit, then shoot multiplication reduced When BA supplemented with GA3 instead of kinetin, then rats of shoot proliferation and no. of shoots didn’t improve but shoot length increase. Out of diff conc of IBA and IAA tested 1.0 mg/lit most suitable for root induction Reference : Reference American-Eurasian Journal of Scientific Research 2 (2): 151-154, 2007 ISSN 1818-6785 © IDOSI Publications, 2007 Corresponding Author: Md.
