School Board - Assures funding is available and the appropriate and most updated technology is available. Superintendent -Dr. Culwell leads the district budget for technology and develops and maintains the District Technology Plan. Director of Technology - Mr. Hyshaw serves as district leader for technology infrastructure and leads district technology support personnel. Mr. Hyshaw also ensures all personnel in the district are trained on new technology software and classes are offered as reinforcement. Mr. Hyshaw sets the prerequisites for the bidding of new technological equipment. Principal - Mr. Schilling assures training of technology for all campus staff. He guides and provides opportunities for technology training. The school budget is also managed appropriately so funds can be allocated specifically for new technology and upgrades.

Campus Technology Support - Mrs. Ware provides technical support for the campus. She also installs new programs, hardware, and trouble shoots any technical problems. Teachers - Responsible for meeting district technology standards. Teachers also model proper technology usage for students. Teachers are responsible for integrating technology into the classroom and allowing the students to develop their technological skills in accordance with state standards. They also prepare the students for the 21 st Century. Students -Students are given the opportunity to develop their skills in the usage of the technology.

Grade Level: K-5 Facilitator: Maria Puente Location: Library/Computer Lab Start Time: 9:00 End-Time: 10:35 Learner-Centered Activity Purpose Description Steps Estimated Time Technology throughout the years’ game. To see how technology has changed and the old technology isn’t relevant to today’s learners. Teachers will be grouped in 4s and be given a stack of cards with technology throughout the years and they will have to arrange them with the appropriate years. Get into groups of 4. Pass out the already premade cards with different types of technology from the different years (70s-2011). The teachers will then have to place the pictures under the appropriate year. We will then review the groups’ charts. 10 Minutes Show a video of how classrooms were in the 80s and how they are now. To show the difference in learning of the 21 st century learner. A video will be shown that shows the difference in the classrooms in the 80s and today. After the introduction game has been reviewed… a video will be played to show the teachers how times have changed in the classrooms. 5 minutes Internet/Blogs/Wikis To show the teachers how students communicate in this day and age. Ways to explore the internet and to use it to your advantage/how to integrate blogs and wikis in the classrooms A representative will show the staff examples of different blogs and wikis that students are currently using. They will also show that this is how even the most timid children can participate without being embarrassed. Internet sites are also introduced that can be used in the classroom. (Handouts and index cards with websites will be provided) 30 minutes Blogs To show teachers how easy it is to setup and maintain a blog. Teachers will move to the computer lab to create their own blogs and post on each other’s blog. Teachers will then move to the computer lab to create a blog. Guided instruction will be provided. After their blogs have been created, then they will have to post on another teacher’s blog. 45 minutes Survey To see how this training can be improved Online surveys will be provided An icon on the desktop will be assessable so teachers can provide feedback online instead of manually with pencil and paper. 5 minutes

Evaluation Planning for Action Plan :

Evaluation Planning for Action Plan Constant observations and walkthroughs will be conducted. Continuous staff developments and trainings will be available so teachers can sustain their knowledge on the trainings given. Within two months a blog will be developed for the staff to submit their input about the training. There will be a staff member that represents the primary and one for the intermediate grades that will be proficient in technology and will consistently go to trainings at the technology center. They will disseminate information to their appropriate grade levels. At the end of the year, a last staff development will be held to allow teachers voice their opinions about the implementation of technology. Teachers will be recognized and rewards given to teachers that implemented technology in the classrooms
