05/15/07 Turner/Gant Eudora, Arkansas 2 Introduction This is our 10 th Annual Family Reunion The first reunion was July 4, 1997 and was the brain-child of Luberter Martin and Betty Gant We changed the reunion to Memorial Day weekend in 2000 so it wouldn’t be so hot and the mosquitoes wouldn’t be so bad. Eudora, Arkansas is where our family originated so we choose home for the reunion each year, and that is where Mama lives.

Topics of Discussion:

05/15/07 Turner/Gant Eudora, Arkansas 3 Topics of Discussion One purpose for the reunion is so family members living in other states can get to know each other and stay in contact. Another purpose is so we can all get to know each other better. Share Joys and Concerns. Allows the younger generations to get to know the older generations and learn some of our history Allows the younger generation to learn a little about Eudora if they’ve never lived there. The most important reason for the reunion each year is to visit with Mama and let the grandkids get to know her.

Topic One:

05/15/07 Turner/Gant Eudora, Arkansas 4 Topic One There will be a family log created this year with everyone’s name, address and phone number in it. We can stay in contact with our family members, even those in the military. Even if you lose your copy you’ll be able to call any family member and get the information you need from them.

Topic Two:

05/15/07 Turner/Gant Eudora, Arkansas 5 Topic Two We will learn about each others Joys and Concerns and what really matters to each other. We can share in birthday celebrations, (like some folks from Kansas City did with Betty last summer) births, graduation, anniversaries, and just general fun. Family should always be welcome to each others home and feel welcome without an invitation. That’s what family is.

Topic Three:

05/15/07 Turner/Gant Eudora, Arkansas 6 Topic Three If you don’t’ know where I’ve been you can’t know where I’m coming from. We need to teach our children about their heritage. Tell them about you growing up in Eudora and how much it has changed (or not). Let them know that even with nothing you can be something. It’s not where you start out but where you end up. Be prepared for anything. Life may be hard but it’s fair. God is our foundation and if you keep him in your life and your eyes on Jesus all things are possible. When Mama had nothing else to give us, she gave us Jesus and he was enough.

Real Life:

05/15/07 Turner/Gant Eudora, Arkansas 7 Real Life God gave us Mama and Mama gave us God as our Father. He is rich in houses and lands and he want us to prosper. Mama knew that whatever we would need in life that God had it and was willing to share it if we asked according to his will. For those of you that don’t know the Lord as your personal Savior, I offer him to you today. No matter what the situation, God is able to solve it. We’ve tried everything else, Let’s Try GOD.

What This Means:

05/15/07 Turner/Gant Eudora, Arkansas 8 What This Means This family is rooted in God and when you can’t find your way just whisper a prayer to God he’s not hard of hearing and already knows your heart. He won’t break in though, but he will stand at the door and Knock. If you don’t remember anything else on this presentation remember that God Loves You and will always be there for you. He is faithful and never changing.

Let her see that we were listening when she was praying for us, singing those gospels everyday, and telling us about God’s goodness.
