Presentation Description

Scars say something about who we are, or about significant events that have occurred in our lives. From a spiritual standpoint "scars" can say a lot about a person as well. Look at the scars of three men and see what it says about them, and then make some personal applications.

Slide 2: 

I. Man With The Legion (Mark 5:1-20) A) Before Jesus came along, he was a wild man ( vs. 1-5) B) After Jesus came into his life, he was a changed man. C) Jesus told this man to go back to his home, and tell his friends about all the great things that had happened to him (vs. 19) D) Don’t let the scars of your past sins get you down. Use them to glorify God .

II. Scars of The Apostle Paul A) Paul felt he even bore the marks of Jesus in his body ( Galatians 6:17) B) He got his scars through being fully committed to the Lord. ( 2 Cor. 11:23-25) C) The loudest message Paul’s scars proclaimed, “I live for Jesus” (Gal. 2:20) D) Do you have scars from your life with Christ? E) What do your scars do for you ?

Scars of Jesus (Isaiah 53:3-6) B) Scars of Jesus have some very important things to say to us : Isaiah 53:3-6 1. “I did this for YOU ” vs. 5a 2. “I did this so that you might know peace ” vs . 5b ( Col. 1:20-21 ) 3. “I did this so that you could be healed ” vs. 5c 4. “I did this because I love you .” (John 15:13; 1 John 4:9-10) 5. “Don’t ever forget what I’ve done for you.” ( 1 Cor. 11:24 , 25)
