Feb. 3, 2010 Achieving a Prosperous life : Achieving a Prosperous life Need food Shelter Clothes to wear Good work attitudes Improvement of one’s skills are needed. Traits that can lead to a progressive life: : Traits that can lead to a progressive life: Practiced skills Industriousness - working energetically and devotedly; hard-working; diligent: an industrious person. Patience - bearing of provocation, annoyance, misfortune, or pain, without complaint. Traits that can lead to a progressive life: : Traits that can lead to a progressive life: Perseverance - steady persistence in a course of action, a purpose, a state, etc., esp. in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement. Creativity - the state or quality of being creative. Resourcefulness - Able to act effectively or imaginatively, especially in difficult situations. Dressmakers : Dressmakers Make clothes for work, uniforms for school, factories, offices and hospitals, clothes for everyday use. Embroidery like table cloths, handkerchiefs, folding fans and pillowcases takes patience Carpenters : Carpenters They help provide shelter. It is done by hardworking and industrious carpenters. Carpenters : Carpenters They also work beside masons, plumbers, electricians and architect . Carpenters : Carpenters The government has housing projects ready for those who are in immediate need of a house. These houses are for victims of calamities and for those who have been relocated. Everyone should keep their houses clean. Teachers : Teachers Help the youth attain education. The teacher undergo training in teaching the different subjects in the elementary grades. They have to work hard to be efficient in teaching Filipino, English, Science, Mathematics, Good Manners, and Civics and Culture. Teachers : Teachers Continually studies. Love and care are needed by teachers in Teaching Children learn much from a kind and caring teacher. Which teacher would you like to have? Doctors and Nurses : Doctors and Nurses They treat people with diseases. They work in hospitals or clinics. They teach people about health practices and taking care of oneself to be safe from sickness or ailments. Their main concern is to have healthy and strong citizens. Engineers : Engineers Industriousness of Workers : Industriousness of Workers What does a person need to have to land a great job? Hardworking Skilled Patience Industriousness Developing one’s talents : Developing one’s talents What can you do to develop your talent? Discover what you are good at. Your parents, teachers and friends can help you find your talent. Look for a school to help you develop your talent. The government as well as the NGO’s have scholarship programs for talented students. Developing one’s talents : Developing one’s talents What can you do to develop your talent? Practice, practice, practice. Michael Jordan, Manny Pacquiao and others practice everyday. Ask God’s help to guide you. Only God knows what is best for you. Talents from our country can help uplift and promote our country’s Culture. Various Activities in the Community : Various Activities in the Community What are the livelihood projects for the community? Cattle and Goat Raising Places where there are a lot of grass. The government provides training and seminars. The government has a program also to give Cattle or goat. Dressmaking and Hair Dressing The government provides training to them. Cooking and Food Preservation People who like to cook will get free training. They bake cakes, make longanisa and other food. Problems in Attaining people’s goals : Problems in Attaining people’s goals Use of prohibited drugs People who take drugs cannot work properly They cannot control themselves Their brains die Problems in Attaining people’s goals : Problems in Attaining people’s goals Disorderliness in Barangay Barangays that are disorderly No peace and order. Neighbors always quarrel They cannot work well Barangays that are orderly They have cooperation, genuine love, and concern. People are united. Peaceful barangay Traits and Attitudes that hinder progress: : Traits and Attitudes that hinder progress: Ningas Cogon – eager at the start but lose this eagerness much too soon. Bahala na – Come what may. Utang na loob – they try to return favors done to them. SELF CONTROLED RESPONSIBLE PURPOSEFUL Traits and Attitudes that hinder progress: : Traits and Attitudes that hinder progress: Imitation – they imitate other and they do not show originality and creativity. “Baka Makalusot” Attitude – they do things that they know is wrong, hoping that they will not get caught.
