Slide 3: He was looking forward to a GOOD LONG REST. Slide 4: No, not just a long lie in. Slide 5: Nor the holiday of a lifetime. Slide 6: He wanted to retire. Slide 7: Not even having to lift his little finger in work again. Slide 8: Dream on! No pension policies to be had in his day! 2,000 years ago in the land of Israel. Slide 9: Yet he worked hard and put aside what he could. Slide 10: That year everything came together. The weather was perfect for a bumper crop. Slide 11: Our hard working farmer made the most of this. Slide 12: Soon he realised that his barns were not going to hold his harvest. Slide 13: So without the aid of a JCB he set about tearing down his old barns. Slide 14: And, working all hours, he erected new, bigger barns. Slide 15: Eventually the harvest was in. The barn doors were closed... Slide 16: … it was PARTY TIME! Slide 17: Stored away in his barns were enough riches for him to see out his days in luxurious retirement. Slide 18: There would hardly have been a more content man going to bed that night . Slide 19: Then it happened... Slide 20: “FOOL!” Slide 21: God said to him. “Tonight your soul is required of you.” Slide 22: Instead of enjoying retirement or entering into eternal rest this fool of a man found himself... Slide 23: … banished from Heaven by God, his creator. Slide 24: Now and forever he suffers the judgement of God. Slide 25: All because he neglected to think of eternal matters and entrust himself to the one who could make his soul rich in Heaven. Slide 27: Don’t you make the same mistake. Slide 28: By the way, how would it go with you if God were to require your soul - TONIGHT? You do not have the permission to view this presentation.
