Despite the availability of treadmills as a great alternative to outdoor running, a lot of people find it hard to spare time to run some cardio-friendly runs. Others simply find running on an exercise treadmill pretty boring. Whatever the reason or excuse, the importance of getting some exercise cannot be exaggerated further – everyone needs it, but the lot of us are just plain lazy to get up and get active. I too, once belonged to this group, but thankfully, I’ve found ways to get the most out of my treadmill workout. Here’s how: Kill the Boredom
Boredom spawns laziness, and laziness breeds procrastination. There are many different things that you can do while you’re running laps on a treadmill. You can listen to tracks on your iPod, watch television, send text messages or make calls on your cellphone, and many more. Some of which can even be your favorite past time. Other exercise treadmill models come with integrated desks so you can access your laptop or read some paperwork as you go. These are only some of the things that you can do as you run on your exercise treadmill, and if you take a look around, you’ll have more ideas that will prevent you from getting bored.
Slide 3:
Moving Your Exercise Treadmill
The room where you position or move your treadmill to has a great effect on your motivation. The entire setting will be a fresh and new one and can offer a whole new experience. If you have a portable or small exercise treadmill, you can even take it out to the garden or the rooftop when the weather is nice, and enjoy the sun as you run. Take it from me, the change in environment and view will change the way you look towards working out on a treadmill.
Slide 4:
Move Yourself
The alternative to relocating your treadmill for a different experience is moving yourself. Take a break from your treadmill and pause your exercise treadmill regimen for about a few weeks. However, this doesn’t necessarily mean that you should stop working out, and instead try searching for something else that’s just as healthy and fun! Outdoor sports such as walking, jogging, running, or cycling are great activities during summer. Better yet, ask your loved one or a friend to go with you to double the fun! Each time you get back from an outdoor exercise, you will be feeling fresh and motivated when you hit your exercise treadmill. In case it gets cold outside or in times of extreme weather conditions, you can get back to the convenience of your exercise treadmill for your cardio exercise, or anytime you want to.
Slide 5:
Experiment with the Pace
Don’t be afraid to try and increase the pace. In case you’re already running on the maximum treadmill level, then decrease it for several days. You may also change the pace while working out and have some fun. This is one of the simplest ways to spice up your regular treadmill routine, although it does not work for everyone of course. These are only some of the ways which can help you make the most of your exercise treadmill and make running on your treadmill enjoyable. There are lots of ways to get in shape, live a healthy lifestyle while having fun at the same time, so go ahead and indulge!
