Dell has many challenges which they are facing nowadays. They are as follows: Customer unable to feel the product: Dell does not have its own store for the customer to touch & feel the product. Therefore it is losing customer demand. Delay in delivery: Even after placing an order in internet, customers have to wait for more than a week to get the product. Increase in competition: Dell is now facing perfect competition in the market. Its major competitors are HP, Acer, Toshiba, Apple, etc. What are the Dell challenges currently?

What are the differences between Dell & HP supply chain model? There are certain differences of supply chain model between Dell & HP. Dell- The process of supply chain in DELL is “PULL PROCESSES” which is initiated by customer orders. It considers all processes before PC assembling are push processes and all after including assembling are initiated in response to customer orders and are thus called pull processes. HP- The process of supply chain in HP is “PUSH PROCESSES” which are initiated and performed in anticipation of customer orders. HP builds the product and keeps it ready in retail store, redemption centre for the customers’ order to arrive so that they can provide their product instantly.

Who will win the race? HP will WIN the race. There are certain reasons to justify that HP wins the race. Customer able to touch, feel & compare the product with others on the spot. Customer choose the product & able to purchase instantly. They don’t have to wait for their selected products to deliver. Market share of HP is better than DELL in comparison. HP is leading the market.
