Digital Story Telling :Digital Story Telling Digital Storytelling is a fantastic way to engage students, teachers and just about anyone. Digital Story is combining the longstanding art of telling stories with any of a variety of available multimedia tools, including graphics, audio, video animation, and Web publishing.

What You Will Need… :What You Will Need… If you are using Windows XP, use Photo Story, a free software from Microsoft. If you are using a Mac, use tools in the iLife suite. If you would like to record narration, you will need a microphone.


What You Will Do… :What You Will Do… For this workshop, you will create a 2-3 minute sample of a digital story, that you would use as a model for your students to demonstrate what they should create. You can upload pictures, music or sounds. You will also have text accompanying the slides. Make sure to give credit when appropriate. At the end of the story, create a list of resources used to create the project, formatted in APA Style.


Step 1: Open Photo Story :Step 1: Open Photo Story Click Begin a New Story Then Click Next


Step 2: Import and Arrange Pictures :Step 2: Import and Arrange Pictures Here you can import photos that are saved on your computer Once they are all uploaded, they will be in this box. You can rearrange, rotate, change the color or remove red eye. Once finished click Next


Step 3: Add title to your pictures :Step 3: Add title to your pictures Here you can add titles to your pictures and chose the location. You can also change the effects of your images. Once your finished, click Next


Step 4: Narrate your pictures and customize motion. :Step 4: Narrate your pictures and customize motion. Here, you can customize the motion for the images and choose slide transitions. If you want, you can narrate your story by clicking the red Record button. Once your finished, click Next


Step 5: Add background music :Step 5: Add background music Here you can select music that is on your computer to accompany your story. You can create music Click Preview to see your story Now you can save your project, as a wp3 file Once your finished, click Next


Step 6: Save your story :Step 6: Save your story Here you can save your story as a wmv file Here you can pick what you want to do with the story. Once your finished, click Next

Posting to the Internet :Posting to the Internet Now that you can successfully created your digital story, share it with the world. Post it to Teacher Tube or Jumpcut Then place post the url on the Complete Digital Story page. Good Luck!!!
