Summer Programs The Qualicum International Student Program also offers short term summer programs. Beginner to advanced students may choose from two and three-week experiences which are enriched through a variety of outings and recreational activities. In addition, both Credit and Prep programs are offered to students who are already studying in Canada or who wish to begin studying in Canada. We also offer custom programs to trip organizers. English Immersion Summer Program This is a 2 or 3-week, activity-filled Summer program, providing immersion into English language study and Canadian culture. Enriched through special field trips to "must-see" tourist destinations, recreation and cultural activities and the opportunity to live with a Canadian host family. Highlights Canadian history, culture and traditions, geography and environment. Students will participate in a variety of reading, writing and creative activities in a challenging and exciting atmosphere. Canadian high school student assistants work with each the group with a making up a 1:5 (Canadian to International student) ratio.

Academic Credit Summer Program Students attending this program are seeking to improve their English language skills and are wanting assistance in preparing for the academic courses they will enroll in during the 2008-2009 school year. Courses offered English 8 – 11 Mathematics 8 – 11 Science 8 – 11 Planning 10 Location: Ballenas Secondary School Dates & Times: July 2 – 29, 2008 Mon to Fri 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Costs: Tuition Fee ($1,200) Homestay Fee ($700) and Homestay Finder Fee ($150)‏

Academic Prep Summer Program For students seeking to improve their English language skills in preparation for the academic courses during the regular school year. Opportunity to practice their English skills within a comprehensive, integrated program of classroom study and workshops. Students live with a Canadian host family in Qualicum School District and attend daily English language classes at the campus. This program is for all levels - beginners to advanced - with an emphasis on speaking, listening and writing. For students age 14 to 18 years.
