To quick open image while still holding mouse in hand just double click anywhere in Canvas (Image) area to open Open dialog where you can browse for images.Change Canvas color in Ps and pse : Change Canvas color in Ps and pse To change Canvas (Image) area color in Photoshop and Photoshop Elements right click in Canvas area outside of image and choose from defaults or click Select Custom Color and choose color in Select Custom Background Color dialog.Clip Thumbnails to Layer Bounds in Photoshop and Photoshop Elements : Clip Thumbnails to Layer Bounds in Photoshop and Photoshop Elements When you have small graphics, shapes or placed content inside Photoshop and Photoshop Elements with Entire Document in Layers Panel Options > Thumbnail Contents checked, thumbnail in Layers palette shows you an empty layer.Change font attributes from keyboard in Ps and pse : Change font attributes from keyboard in Ps and pse To quickly change font, font style, font size and anti-aliasing method in Photoshop and Photoshop Elements first select Type tool and layer with text in Layers palette then press Enter to select font name in options bar or click inside Set the font family field in options bar. Start typing name of the font or use arrow keys on your keyboard to change font. Press Tab to move insertion point and select Font style field, again use arrow keys to change style. Press again Tab to select Set the font size field and use arrows to change font size for 1 point at time or Shift + arrow to change size for 10 points at time. Press again Tab to select Set the anti-aliasing method and change anti-aliasing using arrow keys on your keyboard. To go back one field in options bar press Shift + Tab.Rename Type Layer in Ps and pse : Rename Type Layer in Ps and pse By default Type Layers are named with text you entered but sometimes it is desired to change to for example Header, Footer and so on. To rename Type layer do exact same thing as with other layers: double click letters with layers name to make input field active, type new name and press Enter.Switch Adobe Bridge to Compact Mode : Switch Adobe Bridge to Compact Mode To switch Bridge to compact mode first start it then press Ctrl + Enter (View > Compact Mode). In compact mode you can choose Compact Mode Always On Top (menu at top right corner) and have mini window always on top. What is benefit? Navigate or even search files (Ctrl + F) then drag and drop it in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign even in MS Word. To go back to normal view activate Bridge mini window then press again Ctrl + Enter or click Switch to Full Mode icon at top right corner.Change measurement unit in Ps and pse : Change measurement unit in Ps and pse First show rulers from View > Rulers then right click ruler and choose measurement unit (Pixels, Inches, Centimeters) from list.Apply metadata to multiple items in Adobe Bridge : Apply metadata to multiple items in Adobe Bridge To apply metadata or metadata preset to multiple items usually images (you can apply metadata and to PDF, . ai , eps , . indd and so on..) in Adobe Bridge first select all images in Bridge. Click first image, hold down Ctrl then click next. Go to File > File Info or press Ctrl + I keyboard shortcut. Apply metadata preset Or populate fields with data you want to attach to the file and press OK button.Make selection from path : M ake selection from path Sometimes you will need to use Pen tools to make accurate selection, especially around objects with lot of curved lines. First of course make path then select any of Pen or Selection tools (Path or Direct Selection), right click and choose Make Selection.Dynamically resize brush in Photoshop and pse: Dynamically resize brush in Photoshop and pse While you are working with any tool in Ps and pse which uses brush (Clone, Blur, Dodge..) use this cool little tip to dynamically resize brush size: hold down Ctrl + Alt + right click and drag to the left to decrease brush size or to the right to increase brush size.
