EMERGENCY RESPONSE PROCEDURES GLOBE BUILDING JAKARTA

BUILDING EVACUATION PROCEDURES : 

BUILDING EVACUATION PROCEDURES Evacuation will be decided and announced through PA system by On Scene Commander (OSC) of Command Centre. Following are few cases require evacuation but are not limited to : Major Fire Bomb Threats Earthquake Explosion When deciding about the need for evacuation consideration should be given to some cases where staying back at Globe Building will be a better option, eg. Riot/civil disturbance, floods, protest/ industrial action.

Fire Alarm Sounds Remain calm and prepare for evacuation Stop all activities Switch off and unplug all electrical equipment Close all doors and windows but do not lock.

PA System Announces Evacuation : 

PA System Announces Evacuation Complete evacuation is required Follow the directions of your Floor Warden. REMAIN CALM. Walk DO NOT run, to the nearest stairwell exit and proceed to ground level without talking. Walk on the inner side of the staircase with your hand on the banister. This is to avoid being hit by fire escape doors opening onto the staircase and to keep out of the way of people who panic and run down the staircase.

Leave the building and move to your designated assembly area (see Evacuation Routes and Assembly Areas) Answer to the head count by floor wardens. Ensure that all visitor are recorded by the floor warden while taking head count. Do not return to the building until directed to do so by On Scene Commander.

Medical Posts : 

Medical Posts For an evacuation, Globe Building will establish Medical Posts Plan that involves evacuation of personnel. The Medical Posts will be located at each of the two designated evacuation assembly areas (see Annex F), or at a location designated and communicated to principal groups by the Globe Building Crisis Management Team Command Centre. Medical Posts will be prominently signposted and are responsible for dealing with casualties prior to the arrival of the Emergency services. They will each be manned by Globe Building staff members specifically nominated and trained in first aid techniques.

EARTHQUAKE : 

EARTHQUAKE When strong shaking is felt, get under a desk, table, door arch, or stairwell. If none are available, move against an interior wall and cover head with your arms. Remain under covet until the movement subsides. Stay away from large windows, shelving systems, or tall room partitions. After the shaking has stopped, survey your immediate area for trapped or injured persons and ruptured utilities (water, gas, etc).

BOMB THREAT : 

BOMB THREAT All Bomb Threat Are Taken Seriously

Telephone Bomb Treat : 

Telephone Bomb Treat If possible, signal to a second person that you are receiving a bomb threat. Be calm and listen carefully. Do not interrupt or antagonize the caller. Try to develop a rapport by being sympathetic. Take notes Report to Chief Security Officer or other designated Crisis Management Team Leader.

EXPLOSION : 

EXPLOSION In the event of an explosion at the Globe Building : During the Explosion… DUCK Duck or drop to the floor. COVER Take cover under a desk, sturdy table, stairwell, or doorjamb (beware of the door swinging back and forth). If that is not possible, seek cover against an interior wall, protecting your head and neck with your arms. Hallways are among the safest areas; kitchens and garages are the most dangerous. Avoid areas near large windows, tall furniture and heavy hanging objects. HOLD Hold securely on to furniture during the explosion. If the furniture moves, you want to move with it to maintain protection. Remain in that position until the explosion stops.

FIRE : 

FIRE An immediate readiness to evacuate is essential. Fire extinguishers should only be used by trained personnel. Never enter a room that is smoke filled. Never enter a room containing a fire without a back-up person. Never enter a room if the top half of the door is warm to the touch.

Slide 14: 

If a Fire Occurs In Your Area Activate the fire alarm and call the Security. Notify your Floor Warden. Alert people in the area to evacuate the immediate area. Assist those with disabilities. If you have been trained to use a fire extinguisher, while keeping an exit available behind you, bring the extinguisher within six feet of the fire.

If a Fire Alarm Sounds On Your Floor Remain calm and prepare for evacuation. Stop all activities. Switch off and unplug all electrical equipment. Close all doors and windows but do not lock.

If Evacuation is announced on PA System… : 

If Evacuation is announced on PA System… Complete evacuation is required. Walk DO NOT run, to the nearest stairwell exit and proceed to ground level. Close doors and windows as you leave. Follow the directions of your Floor Warden. DO NOT USE LIFTS DURING A FIRE EVACUATION. Leave the building and move to your designated assembly area. Do not return to the building until directed to do so by Fire Service/ CMT-OSC
