The festival takes place in the historic city centre and medieval Jewish quarter El Call Jueu. The most impressive floral displays include the Cathedral steps. There are over a hundred exhibits, some of which are in patios and other spaces which aren’t normally open to the public.

Girona is a city in Catalonia, Spain, at the confluence of the rivers Ter, Onyar, Galligants, and Güell and has an official population of 100,266 in 2018. It is the capital of the province of the same name and of the comarca of the Gironès. It is located 99 km northeast of Barcelona. Girona is one of the major Catalan cities. Each spring, during the 2nd week of May, the streets of Girona fill with colour as the city hosts it’s annual flower festival Girona Temps de Flors . The festival takes place in the historic city centre and medieval Jewish quarter El Call Jueu. The most impressive floral displays include the Cathedral steps. There are over a hundred exhibits, some of which are in patios and other spaces which aren’t normally open to the public

The capital of its own province in northeast Catalonia, Girona is a medieval city and from Napoleon to the Moors 800 years earlier, a lot of people have wanted to get their hands on Girona. The city has faced 25 sieges in its history, which explains why it is completely surrounded by high fortifications that are still standing today.
