Is this a code reader? YES, but to call this unit a code reader is an injustice. Yes the unit will read codes but it is much more than that. This unit is a complete bi-directional diagnostic tool capable of diagnosing errors and in many cases making adjustment to the system to eliminate the errors. What manufacturers will this unit work with? F.A.Q. 3/4 Do I need additional software for different types of bikes? NO, this unit comes fully loaded from the factory with software for all the manufacturers listed previously. What if I don’t have the OEM cable I need for a bike? No Problem, you have two choices. You can call us and get the cable you need (most cables are in stock and can be shipped to you overnight, or you can use the universal cable that comes with the unit. In manual mode, the unit allows you to select the vehicle and system, then displays a drawing of the connector. From there just connect the clips to the connector pin. Note: In a limited number of cases, some functions may not be accessible using universal cable, model or function specific . Can I use this unit on my personal bike? YES, but this is not an inexpensive product, that is why we sell mostly to motorcycle repair facilities. For them it is much easier to justify the cost of the unit, especially when you consider the cost of factory scan tools. Most independent repair facilities don’t have access to the factory tools, this is normally reserved for franchise dealerships. The other issue is the cost, this unit easily replaces upwards of $50,000 worth of factory tools.
