Edit Comment Close Premium member Presentation Transcript Eureka Forbes : Eureka Forbes Started in 1984 with joint venture between Forbes (India) and Electrolux (Sweden) by introducing water purifier (aquaguard) and Vacuum cleaner (Euro Clean) in the market. They were the first to innvate and make the indian homes realize the need of water purifier and vaccum cleaners. During that time these products were unknown to indian market therefore advertising commercial campaigns were an impopssible. Because of the low interest and since the product benefits needs to be demonstrated to the customers, conventional distribution was not viable. Hence EFL chose the less traveled Direct selling route. Slide 2: Direct Marketing is a method which helps to create a direct connection with the potential consumer to obtain an immediate response and cultivate lasting consumer relationship. Eureka Forbes is the first company in India to introduce direct marketing. Today it is Asia largest direct selling organization. It has 6000 direct selling force touching 1.5 million Indian homes and adding 1500 customers daily. . It has 3800 dealers and 58 distributors across the country and operating in over 550 towns and cities. Slide 3: Indian vacuum cleaner market is worth around 120 crores and water purifier market is worth around 350 crores. EFL is a clear market leader in both these categories with a market share of 85%. Aqua guard has over 6 million satisfied consumers and it has 2.5 million satisfied vacuum clean users. and it's the only range of water purifiers in India to be endorsed by the prestigious Indian Medical Association (IMA). Advantages of Direct Marketing : Advantages of Direct Marketing It is easy, convenient and private. Provides more choice to the consumer Consumers can avail best price as there are no middle man involved. Helpful for the companies to build a close and direct relation with the consumers. It saves the valuable time of the working and busy people Disadvantages of Direct Marketing : Disadvantages of Direct Marketing Consumer cannot touch and feel the products before buying. The scope of expansion is limited in this kind of marketing. It has higher per person cost than other form of advertising. There is great scope for misleading and deceiving customers by dishonest businessmen. It may cause irritation to the consumer through unwanted mail and spam. Slide 6: Though there are certain drawbacks of direct marketing, EPL has been able to maintain a good relation with their consumers. It has a good after sales service supported by call centers, customer care representative, and mobile service vans. In a survey of 55 million households have shown that only 7% of them used electric water-purifiers and 12% of the population boils the water for 20 minutes. This clearly shows that 81% of the population is still drinking the impure water. So to capture this 81% of market Eureka Forbes has launched its new product aqua sure ranging from Rs 1800 to Rs 15000.
