Step 2 – Register and Host Your Site : 

Step 2 – Register and Host Your Site We use BlueHost.com because they have great support and offer 1 button wordpress load onto your site. This is key to making the process as easy as possible. They also offer unlimited host accounts so you can easily add additional sites to your account. It is recommended to register your site with a different service than you host with but this is the easiest way. It will take about 48 hours to have your site uploaded onto the servers.

Step 3 – Filezilla - Free ftp Program : 

Step 3 – Filezilla - Free ftp Program You should download Filezilla to your computer. This is a free ftp program. It will make loading files onto your site extremely simple. Go to Filezilla.com and load the program onto your computer.

Step 4 – Choosing a Wordpress Theme : 

Step 4 – Choosing a Wordpress Theme Once you have the Filezilla on your computer you can do a search for “free wordpress themes”. Find a couple you like and download them to your computer. It is important to set up a Wordpress folder and then a themes folder to keep them organized. You should set up a plugins folder while your at it.

Step 5 - Upload Wordpress to Your Site : 

Step 5 - Upload Wordpress to Your Site Your site should be loaded onto the servers by now so it is time to upload wordpress to the site. Login to your cpanel with your login information you received from Blue Host and go to the bottom of the page and find Wordpress. Fantastico is also located in the same area. Either of these methods will get wordpress loaded. Click on either one of these items and follow the instructions. Make sure you do a screen print when it gives you your login username and password.

Step 6 – Upload your Theme : 

Step 6 – Upload your Theme Now it is time to upload your theme. Using Filezilla log into your site so you see the files on the right side of the filezilla screen. On the left side of the screen is your computer files. You have PC side and server side --- side by side. Work your way on PC side to where you stored the theme files – then make your way on server side to where wp-content is - open it up and then open themes folder. When you got everything opened – slide the theme folders from PC to Server.

Step 7 – Turn on the Theme : 

Step 7 – Turn on the Theme OK almost there. Now that the theme is loaded login into the dashboard of your wordpress site. Go to Appearance and click on it and the themes you have loaded onto the site should be there. Choose the one you want and in the upper right hand corner you will choose it to be your theme. Once you have done this – visit the site. You should be looking at your theme of choice and be ready to start blogging.
