MARINE POLLUTION: 

MARINE POLLUTION Pollution of the world’s oceans is quickly becoming a major problem on earth. We know very little about the effects that pollution has on the oceans but we continue to dispose of chemicals, garbage into it.

CAUSES AND EFFECTS The important cause of marine pollution and their respective effects are: Heavy metal poisoning (eg: lead and mercury). Dioxins from the pulp and paper bleaching. PCB’s (Polychlorinated Biphenyls).

MARINE GARBAGE Marine garbage disposal is another major form of ocean pollution. Sometimes the garbage includes junked out fishing nets, plastics, general household etc..

OCEANIC SEWAGE DISPOSAL Sewage is yet another major problem of ocean pollution. All of what we put down to the drains from our homes, industrial effluents and even chemicals such as paint and fertilizers reach the oceans.

NON-POINT POLLUTION: 

NON-POINT POLLUTION Point pollution is pollution from the direct source like factory pipe Non-Point pollution come from many sources such as industrial runoff, runoff from farming etc..

EFFECT’S OF MARINE POLLUTION Heavy metals chemicals cause birth defects and nervous system damage in shark and whale. It causes genetic chromosomal problem in marine animals and even causes cancer in humans

MEASURES TO CONTROL MARINE POLLUTION Proper recycling facility in oil and paint products Better avoid throwing garbage into the sea, instead of cleaning them later. Make people aware of the impact of marine pollution.
