But the war convinced many people of the necessity of making human rights a universal concern monitored under universal standards Featuring prints from Africa, Asia, and the Middle East to Australia and the Americas Slide 4: The International Print Portfolio Artist's Expressions of Universal Human Rights through August 10, 2008 West Gallery The sets of prints, owned by the Michigan State University Museum, is being circulated in North America as one of a series of activities in South Africa, including the African National Congress; Centre for Culture, University of Fort Hare; and Mayibuye Centre, University of the Western Cape Slide 6: ARTS AND CULTURE play a critical role not only in preparing students for a global world, but also in nurturing the human spirit, and enriching prosperity and quality of life in Michigan. This year, the university is especially pleased to celebrate 2007-08 as MSU's Year of Arts and Culture. THIS INITIATIVE comprises a year of activities wrapping around all arts and culture units and academic programs. Highlights will include milestone anniversaries of the MSU Museum, Wharton Center for Performing Arts, and the Department of Theater, the expansion and move of Kresge Art Museum, the opening of the new Residential College for the Arts and Humanities, and much more. Kids will spend four mornings discovering where fossils can be found in Michigan, what Michigan was like millions of years ago, and why there are no dinosaurs in Michigan. Cost $75.
