The Future:

The Future Increased use of IaaS with larger companies New applications will be developed specifically for usage in the cloud environment. Large companies like Dell, IBM, and Oracle will facilitate PaaS in their offerings Cloud security standards will be created and implemented By 2020 the cloud could replace the desktop as we know it. “A solid majority of technology experts and stakeholders participating in the fourth Future of the Internet survey expect that by 2020 most people will access software applications online and share and access information through the use of remote server networks, rather than depending primarily on tools and information housed on their individual, personal computers. They say that cloud computing will become more dominant than the desktop in the next decade. In other words, most users will perform most computing and communicating activities through connections to servers operated by outside firms.” (Anderson & Rainie , 2010)

Summary:

Summary Cloud Computing is here The benefits from cloud computing will lead to growth in the industry This will result in startup companies that will focus on the development of cloud technology.
