What is it? What does it mean? It is a methodology to improve processes by eliminating defects and waste. It means you can: Improve customer satisfaction Improve how you do business Reduce your expenses Increase your revenues Increase your impact on the business

7 steps process for a project: 

7 steps process for a project List 10 metrics of your business and pick one to improve Define processes that impact the metric Measure metric on the related processes Analyze major causes of defects and waste Improve processes with action plan Measure how metric changes after actions Any action that brings consistent improvement should be in the std process

4 tools to use on your project: 

4 tools to use on your project VOC (Voice of Customer) to give you input on what needs to be improved Control Chart to analyze how your metric evolves along the days, weeks or months Fishbone to analyze which causes produce defects Pie Chart to analyze which categories contribute more to the number of defects Pareto Chart: 20% causes 80%

1 trigger: 

1 trigger Calculate the average for your metric in the last 2 months. Compare with original metric If you have improvement in just one of month, next step is to refine your action plan and measure another month If you have improvement in both months, next step is to prepare for new standard process If you have not improved in any month, next step is to go back to Step 4
