ACTION :
ACTION Used in the puerperium for PIH ,pre-eclamptic eclamptic patients together with enalapril to control hypertension.
CONTRAINDICATIONS :
CONTRAINDICATIONS Renal impairment – causes diuresis.
Hepatic impairment
Aggrevates diabetes
Caution with breastfeeding.
SIDE EFFECTS :
SIDE EFFECTS Hypokalaemia
Hyponatraemia
High blood sugar
Headache
Weight gain
Photosensitivity
MONITORING :
MONITORING As with enalapril. BP monitoring.
May need to take for 3 months post delivery.
