Project Alternatives “Whack-a-trash”: Children use a soft hammer to whack pieces of trash that pop up, and must refrain from whacking food items Bicycle Light Bulb: Children pedal a bicycle, generating energy to power a bulb Food Sorting Station: Children sort food into the five stages of the food pyramid Musical Steps: Children walk over a series of panels; each panel produces a different note

U.S. State Puzzle : 

U.S. State Puzzle Children place cut out shapes onto an outlined board, sound is played if it is placed correctly and identifies the state (and perhaps its capital) Encourages cooperation between children and parents

Alternative Recommendation: Bicycle Light Bulb : 

Alternative Recommendation: Bicycle Light Bulb Children pedal a bicycle, or something similar, their work in turn powers a light bulb which lights up Some sound could play when the bulb is lit, could encourage children to continue to pedal

Whack-a-Trash : 

Whack-a-Trash Objects pop up, similar to the original Whack-A-Mole game, and if the object is non recyclable, the children are supposed to hit it. If correct, they are rewarded“good” feedback (sound), and if incorrect receive a different sound.

Food Sorting Station : 

Food Sorting Station Children sort food into the five food pyramid categories, various indicators display if they have sort it correctly Teaches children about the food they consume at a basic level

Musical Steps : 

Musical Steps Children run over a series of panels that could be shaped into either stairs or a flat keyboard Each panel plays a different note, children can cooperate with each other to play multiple notes at once
