Building Minds Project Selection Client presentation By David Bertoglio, Rebecca Covington, Laura Firey, Sachin Tewari, Adriana Phillips, and Kevin Yoon Overview : Our recommendation for a new exhibit at the VADM is an operation exhibit that incorporates learning main components of the human body. The rational behind this recommendation is: The success of the board game The educational aspects The hands on interaction for both the child and the parent Limited guidance necessary Our second recommendation is for an exhibit that promotes healthy dietary options Overview Project Suggestions : Operation Game Healthy Eating Roy G. Biv Where are the Planets? Journey through the Solar Systems Hallway Project Suggestions I. Operation Game : Exhibit will consist of a giant, life size body with various missing components. The child’s task is to place each component in its correct spot and thereafter receive feedback. I. Operation Game II. Healthy Eating : This exhibit will consist of a face with an open mouth and a selection of healthy and unhealthy foods. When children insert different types of food into the exhibit’s mouth, they will receive feedback. This exhibit will appeal to children and encourage them to follow a healthier diet. II. Healthy Eating III. Roy G. Biv : This exhibit will attempt to teach the children the color wheel. It will also test their color-matching skills as well as their reading abilities. III. Roy G. Biv Iv. Where are the Planets? : Exhibit will be a large model of the solar system with a place for each planet. The kids will receive feedback upon placing the planets in the solar system. Iv. Where are the Planets? V. Journey through the Solar System Hallway : The Space tunnel would replace the current Rainforest Hallway. The tunnel would start at the sun and end with Neptune. There would be nine spaceships, each matching a planet, which slide along the wall under the planets. Children will receive feedback for their interactions with the space ships. V.
