The project aims to develop the love for and habit of reading among public school pupils and students through building a warehouse of supplementary reading materials called the LIBRARY HUB. The Division has established two Library Hubs located at Kawas Elementary School and Kiamba Central Elementary School. ESTABLISHMENT OF LIBRARY HUB ESTABLISHMENT OF LIBRARY HUB : Kawas Elementary School These days, the rehabilitation is still on going. The tiled floor (hallway and inside), fully finished walls, installed ceiling and electrical wirings mark the 85% completion of the hub. By the end of October 2009, as the library hub personnel will be assigned and the equipment the library hub is expected to be functional. Alabel Central Elementary School (ACES) was the pilot school. It aims to assess Grade 1 pupils of their reading abilities through Synergeia activities. This program is now on its 2nd year of implementation. Slide 34: CLASS ROM (Comprehensive Learning Assistance and Support for Schoolers) A Grade I Reading Program involving parents in mentoring their children and is monitored by classroom teachers. The program was launched last July 4, 2008 at Kiamba, Sarangani and was headed by Hon. Romel Tomas M. Falgui, Kiamba Municipal Mayor. Slide 35: AS A FILIPINO The Union Bank Quest has evolved into As A Filipino Learning System: Developmental Reading Integrated with Values Education for Good Citizenship As A Filipino. Its target is to produce independent readers since Reading is a survival skill – If you cannot read, you cannot learn. The beneficiaries of this program are the Grade 2 pupils of the three Districts of Malungon. Its implementation period starts during the third grading period, November 2008 to February 2009. OTHER READING PROGRAMS : BUKLAT AKLAT MOBILE LIBRARY PROJECT In February 1998, National Book Store, Inc. (NSBI), Anvil Publishing, Inc. and the Reading Association of the Philippines (RAP) launched the Buklat Aklat Mobile Library Project. The objective of the project was to encourage reading among children ages 5 to 12 and instill in them the love for reading particularly during the formative period. Result of the sampling of 375 students in 12 schools: FLAMESFamily Learning Activity in Mathematics, English and Science : Last July 9, 2009, we distributed instructional materials intended for FLAMES activities. There were also simulation in the use of instructional materials. Organized English, Science and Math Officers. Each set of officers is required to submit the proposed project to enhance academic performance. Trainees were attentively listening to their lecturer and answering the assessment test in every end of the session. Conducted the TIP Recognition Day for the TIP Assessment Test passers last May 28, 2009 at Provincial Gymnasium. The TIP Assessment Test was administered last February 6, 2009 at Alabel National High School. One of the passers happily received her Certificate of Proficiency. Alabel Central Elementary School (ACES) was the pilot school. It aims to assess Grade 1 pupils of their reading abilities through Synergeia activities. This program is now on its 2nd year of implementation. Slide 35: AS A FILIPINO The Union Bank Quest has evolved into As A Filipino Learning System: Developmental Reading Integrated with Values Education for Good Citizenship As A Filipino. Its target is to produce independent readers since Reading is a survival skill – If you cannot read, you cannot learn. The beneficiaries of this program are the Grade 2 pupils of the three Districts of Malungon. Its implementation period starts during the third grading period, November 2008 to February 2009. OTHER READING PROGRAMS : BUKLAT AKLAT MOBILE LIBRARY PROJECT In February 1998, National Book Store, Inc. (NSBI), Anvil Publishing, Inc. and the Reading Association of the Philippines (RAP) launched the Buklat Aklat Mobile Library Project. The objective of the project was to encourage reading among children ages 5 to 12 and instill in them the love for reading particularly during the formative period. Trainees were attentively listening to their lecturer and answering the assessment test in every end of the session. Conducted the TIP Recognition Day for the TIP Assessment Test passers last May 28, 2009 at Provincial Gymnasium. The TIP Assessment Test was administered last February 6, 2009 at Alabel National High School. One of the passers happily received her Certificate of Proficiency.
