ONE VOTE For RIGHTEOUS
GOVERNANCE REV. JOJO GONZALES
Slide 2:1-Vote Movement
"that all of us may be one . . . ."
The 1 Vote is a movement inspired by the prayer of our LORD JESUS in John 17:21. The 1-Vote movement intends to promote the active participation of Filipino voters in the election process by not only making
their individual votes count but also protecting their votes to ensure that the candidates actually elected by the majority will be the ones proclaimed as victors.
According to NSO Statistics there will be more than 34 million voters in 2010, more than 6 million of whom will be voting for the first time. Unless the Filipino voters are properly guided as regards their Constitutional right to suffrage, our democratic process will come to naught .
The 1-Vote movement is the catalyst of change in Philippine politics. As such, 1-vote Movement's main purpose is to protect and promote the interest of the Filipino people towards good governance.
Towards these ends, the movement seeks to initially rally at least 1,000 Filipino Christian organizations and/or denominations to participate in a two day convention to be held on May 9-10, 2009, for purposes of hearing their respective positions/views and/or comments on the forthcoming 2010 national and local elections, invite keynote speakers to educate the participants on the election process and discuss matters of concerns, and to hear the aspirants for national positions relative to their political flat form and agenda, among others.
Thereafter and with the guidance of the HOLY SPIRIT, the movement envisions to unite not only the Christian community but the Filipino voters to actively participate in the 2010 elections by voting and campaigning for national and local candidates who, among others, will meet the criteria of Psalms 82:3-4, to wit: "Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor a nd oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked. (NIV)
