Premium member Presentation Transcript Creating Titles in Pinnacle Studio : Creating Titles in Pinnacle Studio Produced by Rob Westlands For Javea Computer Club Video Editing Group The Purpose of Titles : The Purpose of Titles Create Initial Interest Indicator of Content Opportunity to be Creative Title Overlays(i.e. on your video clip) : Title Overlays(i.e. on your video clip) Slide 4: In Pinnacle, select the “T” tab on the left hand side to bring up the available templates, note the small arrow on the top of page 2 indicating more templates, click on the arrow to view. You may like the style but not the wording, don’t worry this can be changed later Standard Pinnacle Templates : Standard Pinnacle Templates Click on “T” tool tab Click here for more Slide 6: Let’s take “Happy Easter” as our starting Title. Click on the template and the following will be displayed on your preview screen If you like it, double click to add it to your title line just below your clip Slide 7: Selected template added To modify text (Words,Style and Colour) : To modify text (Words,Style and Colour) Double click on the title Screen appears with your title Highlight text with cursor (Change wording if required) Placing cursor on font boxes will enable pop-ups with 8 different colours of that style Click on your choice to select Slide 9: Use cursor to highlight text Click on font on right and a pop up will show the style in 8 different colours. Click your choice Font styles Scroll for more To Change the Font : To Change the Font Double click on title template to bring up screen Highlight text with cursor Select font from drop down box Increase or decrease size by counter When completed click OK Slide 12: Select font Font size Final Adjustments : Final Adjustments Your Title will be displayed on your clip for a short period of time (default time is around 5 seconds). You can change the way the title appears, increase the time of display with a few adjustments How to move your title : How to move your title Double click on your title to bring up screen On top left hand see boxes marked “editing roll” = the title will roll up the screen and = the title will roll from right to left, you choose. To increase the time of display, adjust the “duration” on top right of screen Slide 15: Choose title roll up or from right Change duration here Making a Full Screen Title(as a lead in to your movie) There are several ways to produce a Full Screen Title. Select the one you want, click. done. If you would rather have a favourite photo as a background this is also possible. Here’s how Slide 23: Selecting either of these buttons will open colour palates for personalised backgrounds Slide 24: Click on this file and navigate to your photos to insert one of your choice Slide 25: Background photo example Add Text to Background : Add Text to Background Click on the “T” at the bottom of the screen, draw a text box with your cursor. (it doesn’t matter where, you can move it later). Select desired font and style Type your text Select roll, scroll or static, check duration and click OK Finishing Off : Finishing Off Now that you have taken time to make your very own Title Overlay or Full Screen Title finish it off by using “Transitions” at the front and back.
