You may have transferred VHS tape to DVD using a “combi” VHS/DVD recorder. You may have transferred analogue movie film to DVD/SVCD You want to edit the movie now on DVD/SVCD using Pinnacle Capturing from Movie DVDs : Capturing from Movie DVDs The capture of “commercial” films to include in a Pinnacle movie is not included in this tutorial as this would breach copyright and piracy legislation Capturing from DVD : Capturing from DVD Use this method if you have created a DVD from a “Combi” VHS/DVD recording device Capturing from DVD(Continued) : Capturing from DVD(Continued) Open Pinnacle Studio Click on “Capture” tab Disregard error message saying “no camera detected” Click on “File”, Select “Import DVD Titles” from drop box Select drive where DVD is situated Tick appropriate boxes for required scenes (if necessary, select “Video TS” Depending on MB download, this takes time. Capturing from DVD(Continued) : Capturing from DVD(Continued) When download complete, the “imported” file will be on left hand page. (If for any reason it isn’t, don’t worry, navigate to, My Documents, Pinnacle Studio, My Projects where it will be hiding). Switch to the “Edit” tab Drop the scene/s to timeline to edit. Capturing from SVCD : Capturing from SVCD If you have a movie on a SVCD and would like to edit it. Use this method to access the files. Capturing from SVCD : Capturing from SVCD If you have an SVCD or been given a home movie on SVCD you can use the following method to access the video files so you can edit them in Pinnacle Capturing from SVCD : Capturing from SVCD Open “My Computer” Select drive where SVCD located “Right Click” and select “open” Click on “mpeg” folder Select the file you want and then use “copy this file” to place a copy on your hard drive. In Pinnacle “Edit” mode use the “folder” to navigate to where you stored the copy. Select and it will load onto Pinnacle.
